How do I change the tire on a 1999 chevrolet silverado 1500 4wd

The instruction manual says that you have to stick the wedge end of the tire iron in a groove if you have a flat middle in the rim which I think I do but I don't see a slot to put the wedge part of the tire iron in,also I tried putting the lug end of tire iron on the plastic tire nuts it fit but it turned only a couple of times and would not remove the nuts.vehicle is a 1999 Chevrolet Silerado 1500 4.8 L V8 VIN (V)
THANKS ,
Paul

The plastic nut doesnt actually come all the way off. it just stays with the center. and once you get these undone you can then pull the cover off

1999 silverado rear end shakes at all speeds. put brand new tires n balanced

You should have an alignment on all 4 wheels. Check that the rear axle has not shifted forward or backward on one side. If you have Rear Disc Brakes, have the Hub & Rotor checked for alignment. Does this shaking happen all of the time or just when turning? Does it only happen when you apply the brakes? A Rotor and Hub that is out of alignment will cause shaking. Also check that the Caliper Slide Bolts are lubricated, otherwise the caliper will not operate correctly and the inside of the rotor will wear out faster. This can cause shaking also.

Can't get the spare tire down on an 06 chevy sierra

you might need to use a tire iron or some sort of large tool to wedge it between the floor of the bed and the tire, they can get 'stuck' there after sitting up there for years-if the cranking mechanism is frozen you can try to spray it with some spray lubricant and let it soak, freeing it up.

Front end shakes at 65 to 75pmh

I would have front tires checked for balance at any tire shop. If okay inspect tie rod ends, idler arm, and pitman arm, as I see these part go bad most often on these vehicles. It sounds like you have a tire balance problem.

I have a '99 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4. It has a bad vibration in the front-end. I've changed all U-joints and have rotated the tires, but it still has a bad vibration. Does anybody have an idea what the...

It sounds like you may have lost a weight on one of the tires that balaces it. If so and if you rotated the tires to the rear and rear to front then the vibration would come from the rear. If you only switched the two front tire with each other it would still be in the front. I would start by having the two front tires re-balanced and see what happens. if this doesn't work then it may be a wheel berring going out on you. Keep me informed, Raz
