Where's the fuse for the AC on 98 Olds 88?

So what does the fuse that blows, protect?

You need a wiring diagram & start to test
the components most likely to cause a high
current draw & blown fuse.

Don't keep replacing it.

You know the fan control circuit works, but the
compressor doesn't stay on. Did you monitor
the compressor as the fuse blew?

May have a module for compressor & fan
If so one side failed
The compressor clutch could be bad

Interior fan want work

First, check the fuse block for an open / blown fuse. You didn't provide the make & model of your car, so you'll have to find out which fuse is used for the fan. Replace any open / blown fuse found with the correct size as determined by the manual. If it still doesn't work, keep reading:

Many cars and trucks use what is called a "resistor pack" that is used to determine various preset speeds for the heater & A/C blower or fan. When you switch the fan from one speed or another, power is passed through a different value of the resistor - which changes the voltage to the fan motor. The different voltages provides different speeds.

The resistor pack is usually the problem if the fan works at one or more - but not all speeds. It can be the problem if the fan doesn't work at all either. The location of the resistor pack varies with vehicle make and model, but is often very close to the motor itself and accessible from the passenger compartment. Consulting with a employee at an auto parts store or Chilton's (or similar) auto repair manual should get you to the right spot. Resistor packs are relatively inexpensive at about $25 or less.

I hope this helps & good luck!

1996 buick skylark fan operatiion - How to test it?

Take out the temperture sensor switch and put it into very hot water to see if it works. Plug the hole with something to stop losing water. If the fan doesn't work put some voltage on the motor and try that. If that doesn't work it is the fan motor. If it does then it is a faulty switch.

Auxilary fan not coming on, what does it do & what would cause this?

This fan comes on when the A/C is turned on or if the car is running excessively hot. If the A/C doesn't work anyway and the car is not overheating then there is little concern.

How do I replace the radiator cooling fan motor on a 1995 Ford Taurus? How would I check it to see if it is bad?

You disconnect the plug at the fan

Then apply battery voltage to one side &
ground to the other

It is a dc motor so it will run either direction
You just need to see if it works
Doesn't matter how you wire it up

If the fan is good then you may need help
If you see a screw in fan switch in the bottom
of radiator you can test it with a meter with
the wire connector off

You shouldn't have any reading with coolant cold
& if it works when motor is warmed up it will give
you a meter reading

You can use OHMs or your buzzer feature
