My 2002 Volkswagen beetle starts to accelerate and then slowly loses power and then will not accelerate past 20. We had a bad alternator that had to be replaced but no one can figure out why it keeps...

It might not be getting enough fuel due to a dirty fuel filter, air filter or a failing fuel pump. I'd try a new fuel filter & air filter first then check out the pressure on the fuel pump. You may also have injector problems.
Good luck.

My 1999 vw beetle is burning gas im getting my spark plugs changed tomorrow will it fix it? what else could be wrong? it is still starting up but it is a little shaky and doesnt seem like it wants to...

Wouldn't be a bad idea to also put on a set of good quality spark plug wires while you're at it.

I think I'd also invest in a new air filter.

Hopefully this will take care of your fuel consumption issue.

When I accelerate the car wants to stall in every gear, some type loss of power. anyboby have any clues?

Could be a very dirty air filter, could be a dirty fuel filter. Make sure you replace those if you cant remember the last time you did that.

Try driving it with the MAF unplugged and see how it runs. As for the Jetta, VW has release a service bulletin on the oil in intake problem. But I can't remember every thing in the bulletin. I'll have to look it up.
