Question about 2004 Dodge Ram 2500

2004 dodge deasel won't start in -4 and up weather

When i plug it in for 30 min then it will start i got the heater mat checked and its good just can't figer it out is there somthing else that can cause that

    i got the new stile in the tank new lift pump new injuctors and new injuction pump.not to say that somthing is not right .but what happens is when i leave it for the night if it goes past -4 the truck won't start but if i plug it in for 30 mni then it will start right up and if it is not cold out the truck works fine ....can't go no where without my power cord can you please help.................

    it workes great it got lots of power but for some reason when its past -4 and up if itsnot pluged in won't start like to know why

It could be a leaking injector. these years are known for them. do you still have the old style lift pump mounted on the block, or is it in the tank already

    it's right where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine.

    just out of curiosity. do you know if they flashed your ecm when they put the lift pump retrofit kit in. because if they didnt chrylser has an update for improved cold weather startup

    have you ckecked to make sure your fuel is not gelling up

    remove the fuel filter from the housing when its cold out and see if it looks like wax

I have a 1996 dodge caravan that starts hard in cold weather!


Cold weather has an adverse affect on batteries. The clicking sound could be from the starter solenoid not receiving enough voltage to energize the starter motor. The engine being hesitant to start and run could indicate the need of new spark plugs, wires, etc.

Want start in cold weather?


the car won`t start in cold weather even when plugged in alternator was changed 4 months ago just changed battery thinking it was the battery but seems like something is draining the battery overnight? Maybe its a bad connection??Plz help!!!

96 dodge ran 2500 runs bad in cold weather only will stall if you dont keep foot on gas peddle if you turn it off before it warms up will not start for 30 to 45 mins. new plugs and wires last year. HELP


Sounds like idle motor, it is an electrical solenoid on Throttle body. It is black and looks like a small film canister found on the upper part of the T/B$70

it sounds like the radiator is starting to get pluuged, i would pull it out and have it checked & cleaned, its an inexpensive place to start.

do you plug it in at night and in cold weather? Sounds like a fuel problem. Check your fuel filter and add conditioner to your fuel. Hope this helps.
