The alarm has been disconnected it's a f fox,I checked the button on the side panel.,When I turned on the lights all came on but, the head lights,,,,back lights work and parking lights, heater does not come on,none of the panel lights come on however radio works, horn, brake lights ect,,Drove the car all morning then to the store, has been running great and when I came out once you put the key in the igintion it makes that binging sound (as if door is ajared )as you turn it, then nothing. Now I'm thinking electrical or fuse somewhere????

  • ssheila11 Jan 08, 2009

I believe so,I bought the car used and it was already installed (fox alarm) but, it has been disconnected.

  • ssheila11 Jan 08, 2009

Could a blown igination fuse be causing the car not to start and the panel lights not lighting up,head light not working, wipers don't work, windows don't work but other stuff works??? Or could it be a relay switch?

  • ssheila11 Jan 09, 2009

The alarm I had disconnected when I first bought the car as I didn't have the alarm key that turned it on and off so,the mechanic disconnected the system for me.Do you think also if the battery cable is bad that it could also cause the problems that I am having with certain things working and the igintion not doing anything too? thanks for you help.

The first thing you should do is remove the cables from the battery and clean both the clamps and the battery posts until the surfaces look bright.
I apply a protective coating before I replace the cables but it's not necessary to find out if you have found the problem. After you tighten the battery clamps, try to twist the clamp with your hand. If it moves it is not tight enough.
I've often see cars with battery post to small for the clamps.
If it's loose and you can't tighten it any more, you can purchase lead cups that fit over the post.
Remove the clamp and back the nut up as far as it will go, then use a screw driver to spread the clamp. Put the lead cup over the post and press the clamp down until the post is flush with the top of the clamp and tighten it.

My 2000 lincoln ls doesn't crank or click when trying to start it, it does nothing? all the lights work, radio, signals and horn, I checked the fuel relay and the starter relay and the ignition fu

Sounds like an Ignition Module or similar device. Does it have an alarm? Turn the key to ON - not start - and put into Drive and then back into Park. It may be the shifter isn't fully engaged. Also, w/your FOOT ON THE BRAKE shift to Neutral and try to start it.

2001 aurora won't start at all. Hook batery up horn horn sounds and doesn't stop head lights stay on but nothing happens when the key is inthe ingition. No clicking or anything at all. alarm on...

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

Try to start my 2000 expedition turn the key to the on position everything comes on radio lights ect and go to the start posistion to turn the motor over and nothing no click just a really loud beeping

There's also a security light in the speedomter housing. of this light is on and the light flashes as the beeping sounds the key is'nt being reconized by the computer, This car is well known for started failure so the wire also breaks off the started so look at the wires on the starter to see that they are connected anfd theat they have power the big cable shouls be hot all the time ( from the battery) and the little wire should come hot as the key is turned to start. if it doesn't come hot as the key is turned jump puwer from the battery wire to the small wire and the starter shsould crank ( it can make a spark so be careful to potect yopur self and your eyes from dirt and sparks. If the starter works and the small wire is'nt coming hot as the key is turned the car might not be in park good or may start in neutral. if it does the neural start switch might be bad or the gearshift linkage is loose andf the car is'nt all the way in park.

2000 Intrepid won't start. have cleaned the battery (Less than 1 yr. old) posts and installed it back in the car and the horn honks all lights come on but as soon as i turn the key to start everything go...

Sounds like a bad battery,, it can read 12 volts but not have enough current to run the car,, a good test is to leave the lights on for 10-15 minutes, then try to start the car, most batteries will be able to start the car if they are good. and you said you can jump the car, and keep it running so the alternator appears good

Engine won't crank or seem to get power on key turn.

More than likely, your starter has gone out. If the battery is fully charged and its not even turning over, that is what i would start with.
