Re: 2002 GMC Envoy
Sounds like the blower motor resister to me this piece controls the speeds of the blower motor it should be close to the blower motor on the passenger side it should have wires going to the blower motor very easy to replace.

will try to help but i think you'll need to have that blower replaced. if it's coming on for a sort while and then shuts off after running a short while it sounds to me like the blower motors heating up inside and then shutting itself off due to a short in the blower motor itself. no really quick fix i know of other than replacement of it. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com
Thanks for the opportunity to let me help. The blower control switch in your vehicle also uses a blower relay. This relay is generally located on the firewall on the passenger side near the heater fan. You can also look in you vehicle owners manual for the location of the blower relay, it may be also be located in the fuse and relay box under the hood. Generally speaking if the highest setting doesn't work on a GM vehicle it is a high blower Relay. This item is not expensive and can be purchased at most all you local Auto parts stores. If you have a Napa, Orielly's, or AutoZone these stores will also likely help you in the location if you are unable to locate this relay. Here is a general picture
The installation of this relay is either to remove from the fuse box, or if located near the heater fan housing then you will need to remove the mounting screws, remove the wiring clip, then reverse to install.
I hope that this has helped you. D.R. Wilkins
Blower motor resister, but shouldn't kill the car.It is mounted under the dash on the passinger side next to the blower motor. All is incased in a plastic cover. You should only have to remove the front screws to get to it.Well good luck and hope this helps.
If only some of the fan speeds work this is always the blower motor resistor located in the hvac case inside the right front of the vehicle where your passenger feet would be.the blower motor resistor is available at most larger parts places.I replace 2 or 3 of these a week. Good luck
do you have power to it..or a bad ground around blower motor? is the head unit not signaling the blower to run?...calling it with A/C or heat or just fresh air ..try all settings and advise...good luck
