Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Have a 96 Jeep GC My grandpa's jeep he backed into a traler hitch and hit above the door handle not hard enough to even knock paint off or dent it but now the hatch wont open and cant get the inner panel off without opening hatch but we cant do that any suggestions.
If it's still stuck as of today look under the rear bumper in the center,WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR and with a flashlite high up in there you will see a couple of studs with nuts. using a extension and i believe a 13mm socket loosen but do not remove both nuts. pull on the door a couple of times to free it up and then retighten both nuts. now try the door slowly and it worked for me.you will most likely have too repeat this until it operates freely and closes tightly [to keep the elements out].it is not labor intensive and it's worked on my 96 gc twice. best and luck and let the rest of us know how you came out. jeepinjiminy
