Overheating Leaking coolant completely out overnight Land Rover

LandRover Discovery II series 2001
Mechanic put under pressure but has failed to find source of leak.

    Is there a puddle under the car in the morning? If not it could be leaking into the engine.

I've heard other stories about the coolant leaking then the vehcile needing a head gasket replacement? Ask your mechanic, not just any mechanic will work on these vehicles.

Sounds like a freeze plug, when the motor is warm the metal expands and its seals itself, when it cools over night it leaks..

let them redo the test on a cold motor

I own a landrover disco 2 and even without problems it only gets about 8mpg.Try giving it a complete tune up.If it's a 4.0 like mine the upper left intake has to be removed to change the plug wires.DIY will run you about 150$ just to change the plug wires with a new Upper Intake gasket!

if its bad bearings its cos the belts too tight.if its electrical then its faulty alternators.

the thermostat may need replacing, and the radiatior may need a flush, clean and service,
A pressure test of the coolant system will show up head or gasket problems if it is losing coolant.

Please check the a/c compressor clutch; it may be not working. FYI the compressor does not run all the time. It is the clutch that will cycle on and off to maintain a/c circuit pressure. To check, put the a/c on high and watch the compressor under the hood to see if it cycles.

That is a AC compressor problem.
It may be no compressor oil in that compressor
