Fan works but no hot air

My car the fan blows cold air... I have to drive the car for about 1/2 hour before it stops blowing cold air...and then the air is cool... never heated... could this be my thermostat?... is there a heater coil?...If so where do I locate them to change it?

I have the same issue with my 1998 Taurus. The heater never gets hot and when it feels like it, it will blow luke warm. When we bought this used Taurus in 2007 it had the same problem and they had the hoses flushed out and it worked winter of 2008. Now, again it is not working. To have a mechanic flush the hoses cost around 125-150 dollars.

This year of taurus has a cooling system defect, it causes the radiator to corrode, check the heater core inlet and outlet hoses and see if they are hot, let the engine idle at least 10 minutes, (15 is better) even if the T-stat is the issue the engine will still heat up because it has an electric cooling fan that will not turn on until the engine reaches about 235 Degree's F, if the hoses to the core are both hot u should replace the T-stat, if only one is hot flush the heater core out with a garden hose, do it in both directions to brake up any rust clog, let me know what u find and if u need More help.

Suburban overheating and air conditioner blowing hot

If you have a viscous fan hub have it replaced as it is not working. The problem you have is that the engine is not driving the fan to draw air through the radiator when idling so the engine overheats . When moving the air flow from driving cools the radiator and so the temp goes back down. If you have electric fans have the codes read to find the fault or check why the electric fans are not working.

2000 NISSAN 4X4 P/U A/C SYSTEM WILL BLOW COLD WHEN OUTSIDE AIR TEMP IS COOL, WHEN HOT OUTSIDE AIR BLOWS HOT.

your auxillary fan is not working. this fan is responsible for cooling the freon that is being circulated in your cooling system... check if there are any loose wires in front of the engine bay.

the auxillary fan is located right beside your radiator fan.

this is because you have a bad switch which has gone bad and you need to replace it or either try to bypass it through another circuit.

A/C blows hot air intermittently

this is clear that your aux fan cooling your condensor is not working ,your a/c system is overheating and with speed you are forcing air through your condensor doing the job of the fan.

A/c blows cold parked then blows hot after a few miles

engine fan not kicking in at right interval to bring air in so its pulling in hot air threw ducts
or you have a disconnected duct blowing all air out not to right place

guages could be faulty or bad a/c relay
