Question about 1997 Buick Century

Windsheild wipers The windsheild wipers on my 97 Buick Century stay up when I turn them off. This happened when I left the wipers on when I shut off my car and it snowed and turned into ice. I turned my car on and the wipers have been staying in this position ever since. They work when I turn them on its just when I turn the wipers to off.

The wipers on my 2002 Buick century work properly except when they are turned off. Instead of returning to the park position they stop vertically in the center of the windshield. How do I correct this?

replace the wiper motor, the park on shut off circuit has gone awry. buy a repair book or look for videos on youtube.com as to removal and replacement.

I have a 2002 Buick Centry. The windsheild wipers stick straight up when I turn the wipers off. Why ?

I am having the same problem with my 01 Century. From what I have read there is a tab on the motor bracket that can get bent when there is snow/ice on the cowling, that prevents the arms from parking correctly

Wipers

You have two problems. The first is the wipers turn off and stay in the upright position and do not close. The motor is fine. There is a steal 'close' tab that has been bent out of position. You just need to push the steal tab back into position. You can use a chisel or screwdriver to pound it back into the 90 degree position.

The windsheild washer motor probably needs to be replaced
