Question about 1996 Nissan Maxima
Customer's radio will attempt to eject tape even with no tape in place. Attempted swapping radio got one now with no display. Got a second radio and this one will not accept cassette. Is it possible to take cassette portion out of the no disply radio and re-install in the one that wil not accept cassette? Please let me know.
What we did was take another radio that had no display but the casette worked so we swapped face plates and installed the radio. We had the luxury of having more than one unit. Thanks anyway.

ENTERING SECURITY CODE
Most vehicles are equipped with Heidelberg V or VI radios that are equipped with a theft protection program. When the battery has been is disconnected or if the radio has been removed, the radio will lock-up electronically and cannot be operated until the security code is entered. On the Heidelberg V, if the proper code is not entered in six attempts, the radio will lock-up permanently and cannot be repaired. On the Heidelberg VI, two incorrect attempts will lock the radio for about 1 hour.
The Heidelberg V may have a code assigned at the factory or a personal code created by the owner. The Hiedelberg VI has a code assigned at the factory and entered by the dealer during pre-delivery inspection. New radios come with the code printed on a sticker but not entered into memory. All codes are 4 digits. To code the radio:
