Question about 2000 Ford F350 Super Duty Super Cab
At an idle the truck seems to run fine,Put it on the road and it spits and sputters when you try to accelerate, I did the obvious things, fuel filter, air cleaner. I am thinking that it may be the fuel pump? I have ha dnumerous problems in the past with General Motors fuel pumps and the last one that i did had the same symptons and the solution was the pump. I have checked the pressures and I need to now first of all if I checked at the right spot.....On the injector fuel rail on the right side of the engine near the rear, and the pressures that i got are key on engine off 13psi, engine running 30 psi, shutoff engine and the pressure dropped to 28psi and after a few seconds came back up to 32psi with engine off. Could you offersome help?
Check the fuel pressure while the problem occures....needs to hold 35psi or so under load. You might also have ignition breakdown. Is the Check eng light on? You have coil on plug right? you really need a scanner to id the misfiring cylinder the try moving coils around to see if the problem move with it.
