How to remove dash panels...need to replace heater core
I am trying to replace the heater core in my 1992 Isuzu Rodeo. I know I must remove the dash panels, but, can only find a few places that I can remove the screws. I went to a local junk yard where there is the same model Rodeo and still couldn't figure out how to get the dash panels to remove. Does anyone have a diagram of connecting points or can tell me what I must do to remove the panels? Thanks

You need to buy a repair manual first. You must have the feon removed, because you must disconnect the AC lines from the evaporator, It took me about 4 hours. The screws are under the dash at each end plus in the middle there is a support brace bracket.

You must remove the complete heater core and a/c evaporator from under the dash. It goes from the center of the dash to the passanger side of the dash. You have to remove the glove box, remove the heater hoses, vac. lines to the controlers. Bolts that hold the unit to the firewall. Also must remove small vents at bottom of the dash. Would be much easier if you would just tell me what area you are having problems with. After you are done you will have to recharge your a/c system. This is not a job for a novice.
this is an involved job even for a shop. the freon needs to be recovered and recharged. the dash needs removed. the hours is 8 hours. here a blow up of what is involved to help you understand. hope this helps
sorry to say but sounds like heater core needs replaced might try back flush and see if that helps but it most likly wont help much but will let u know for sure if that is problem because it will help alittle (after all it dose take alot of time to change core) hope it helps
it is under the dash in the center of the dash.remove the heater hoses from underneath the vehicle, remove the sound insulaters from under the dash, remove the air duct, and remove heater core access panel screws, remove heater core straps, remove heater core.
No the dash panel does not have to come out.You will have to remove the console if equipt. You will also have to jack the vehicle up and disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.Let me know if you have anymore questions.Good luck.
