Question about 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix

2 Answers

I have a 97 pontiac grand prix gt. The ignition fuse keeps blowing. The 1st time it happened, i replaced the fuse. The 2nd time, whenever i would put the fuse in (40) it would blow so i went up to a 50. That tells me it must be something thats causing the fuse to blow. Do u have any ideas? I have my own theory....SRS Airbag light has been on. Could this case the fuse to blow?

My 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix gt keeps blowing the 30a fuse for the blower motor resistor wondering why it keeps blowing after replacing the resistor I've went through 4 of these fuses

Possible blower motor is defective pulling excessive amperages causing fuse to blow continuously regardless if its still operable.

2003 pontiac grand prix 3.8...the car hard shifts at take off and jerks from 1st - 2nd

If you have an Automatic transmission, you are out of transmission fluid. Check the fluid by viewing the dipstick nearest the engine firewall, and if it is low, add one quart at a time. Do not overfill, or you will blow a gasket and have a bigger problem. You may also need to replace your transmission, if problem reoccurs. To see if your transmission is leaking, park for about an hour, on any flat concrete surface and look for red fluid spills.

01 grand prix gt blower issues

WEll, the next step is to find where the short is. Disconnect the fan wiring, and replace the fuse again, if it blows, the fault is between the fuse and the fan, but I expect fuse will not blow.

Most likely a fan problem, if the above test does not blow fuse, apply auxillary power to the fan and see if it goes, I expect probably not, but will spark.... if this happens, you would be looking at blower motor replacement.

Factory alarm 97 grand prix

1st the system alarm is intagrated into the engine control electronics, it can not be disabled without poss damage to ther systems and controls, 2nd the most common cause of your issue is the sensor in the ignition lock cylinder being defective, this is the most common issue on all GM anti-theft systems.
