Ther is usually no warning light, but if you hear squeeling they might need to be changed. Another way to check them is if when you step on the brakes to slow down you may feel a little shimmy in the front wheels which mean that the front brakes are doing most of the slowing down and that the rear brakes are worn.

Warning light in 2003 audi a4 that is a circle with parenthesis around it (O). what does this mean?

If it's an orange circle with broken parentheses on each side it would be your brake pad wear warning light. You should have your brake pads inspected.

I have a 2003 Audi a4. Yesterday a light that I've never seen before came on in the dash panel. It looks like a circle with parenthesis around it. The only thing the manual says about that particular...

Did some research and it seems to me you might want to have the brake pads looked at. It might be telling you it is time for a brake job. That would be the first thing I would do. I also see where after the brake job, you still need to find a mechanic shop that can reset the cars computer to make the light go off.
Hope this helps!

Mk1 A4 ABS warning light

I have a 2000 Audi A4 and the break wear sensor warning light come on for me too. It does not flash and is orange in color. I have asked the Audi dealer twice about it and they told me it's because the previous owner put aftermarket break pads on it, thus messing up the sensors. I don't know about the ABS warning and other than that I wish you luck on it.

Brake pad warning light on

If the pads were replaced by non-audi aftermarket pads they may not have the pad sensor and this will cause the warning light to come on.
