My anti lock light, trac light ad service vehicle soon light is on, it goes on and off again, right before it comes on if i step on brake, the brake petal grabs, pulses something to that effect, im scared to drive it, what the heck is going on?
My 2001 Olds Alero anti lock light, trac light, and service vehicle soon light are all on, then it goes on and off again sporadically. The radio will spurt off & on along with the clock. My dealer said it's within the electrical in the ignition system. Seems to be a common problem and just a plain old BAD PART! ABS won't work with light on- affects sensor in wheel. Drivable but.......?
Try to reset by turning ket ON for 10 min, turn OFF for 5-10 min and then try to start car. The car acts like it's "posessed' one day and is virtually fine the next!? Costly problem to fix though.

Re: anti lock light and so on , is on
Please don't GUE$$ this problem speed sensor is part of your speedometer!! not the ABS sensor located at cv joint sensor ring! the sensor is bolted or pressed on to you brake anchor ///hub but it could be your ABS pump?? it could be 1 of 4 of your ABS sensor switches it could even be the sensor RING on CV joint? so to GUE$$ would cost $100.00 up word to a $1000.00 so again take in get it properly scanned to retreve the sensor or other part at fault! usually the fee is waved if you do the repair at that destination! or reduce 1/2 price depending on how well of a relationship you have with your tech our shop usually waves it if you go ahead and get the work required completed! QUESTION is it dangers absolutely! your safety as well as inasint others well it is your choice I hope the free support I gave you helped you out some way shape or form.John

First you'll need to take it someplace to get the computer checked for trouble codes. The codes will tell you or a mechanic what to test.
If the check engine light comes on, it will also turn on the other warning lights even if there is no problem with trac or ABS.
The computer system reset every time you turn key off. The system then does a 3 second bulb check to verify all is functioning correctly. If all is well stays off. The reason why it only turns on when moving is because the abs sensors are either not picking up any vehicle speed from one of the wheels or there is a faulty connection in wiring at one of the wheels. Need to have vehicle scanned by a good shop and verify which wheel is causing the problem. If light is on ABS and traction control systems are disabled.
You need a new wheel bearing, This also happened to my olds alero, make sure 2 jack up each tire 1 at a time and pull back and forth on them checking for play, once you have found the 1 that has play or wobbles that is the 1 that needs a new wheel bearing
These codes are most likely all related. A problem in the ABS syetm will also dissable the other systems you have light on for. You would need to get the computer "scanned for codes" to determine where the fault is. As the other post says, most likely a front wheel speed sensor.
Your vehicle’s computer system has self-testing capability. When the computer senses that there is a problem with some of the components it stores the correspondent trouble code(s) in its memory and lights up the Check Engine, Service Engine Soon, ABS Or TC lights to tell you that there is a problem and you should have the car diagnosed and repaired. I would take it to a service center you trust and let then come up with a solution. Sometimes a problem in one system will turn light on for other systems that communicate with it, but it doesn't mean there is a problem in all of the systems.
i recently had this problem too, except i had all the lights on (ABS, service vehicle, trac-off, AND service engine) they are all easy to fix without spending more than 20-30$ for labour (depending how much your mechanic charges you) mine did it for free and he found out why the engine light is on afterwards too. so to fix all these lights (abs, trac-off, and service vehicle you MUST get another ABS cable (i went to a garage, they were towing a GM vehicle to the junk yard so i grabbed some scissors and cut BOTH abs cables on each side (good thing i did because one was bad) and braught them to my mechanic. the reason the lights come on is probably a defect or in my case my mechanic said it was salt buildup in the wires (on the drivers side) so he cut the wire off and rewired the new one and BOOM all the lights came off (service vehicle, abs, and trac-off) now for my service engine it says catalytic converter but im trying to put some fuel system cleaner to help it out i read somewhere that this is a defect of the car, so if you dont have that light yet, SELL your car ASAP for as much as you can get for it (after fixing the lights of course) and always google (car name+recalls) in the search bar to see what youre getting into, take care
