Question about 1995 Dodge Dakota
I have a Dodge Dakota 4 cyl that will die randomly while driving. It has been feeling like it loses all power and the truck will be in neutral while driving for about 2 seconds. It runs but seems to be in idle. One time it lasted for 5 seconds then sputtered and died. I did not see a spark from the coil after it died. Then the spark returned and the truck started right up. Now it acts the same, but tends to die when stopped at idle. After a few seconds it will start right back up. New distributor, spark plugs, wires, rotor. Added some ground wires to the block, but that did not help. manual transmission 110,000 miles. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try replacing the coil, my 2.5 did the same thing, and after changing plugs, wires, distributor, rotor, rotor button . the last thing i repalced was the coil and i have not had an issue since. all work was done about 6 months ago.
