Have changed battery, have full take of gas, has been below zero, can smell gas when trying to start. can it be frozen up spmewhere?

Yes,fuel can gell up in severe cold..a shot of starting fluid can give you an easier start...but what concerns me is the smell of fuel. In severe cold some rubber seals can harden up and crack causing a leak...check seals around fuel filter on bottom along frame rail or also check injector seals...somewhere you have a leaking seal to smell fuel...check for fuel accumulation somewhere.

Will crack but would turn over have replace starter with in 6 months and battery smell like gas

The coolant temperature sensor signal to the computer controls the fuel injection amount. If you have a spark and smell gas it is flooding. When the sensor first starts to fail the engine will be slow to start the first time.Turn it off and it starts right up

Starter?

Sounds like you have a weak battery..try giving it a good charge and try again many times engines will not start with a battery that turns the engine over but not fast enough to start.. Good luck.

My 1981 Cadillac Deville 5.7L Diesel wont start. Ive checked all that I know including starter, battery, alternator, etc. Also, checked fuel pump, feul filter, fuel lines, injection pump. I topped off all of...

What does changing the oil, changing filters etc, have to do with the vehicle not starting?
What actual testing was done on --battery,alt,starter.fuel pump, etc.,how was this testing conducted and what were the results?
No fluids are consumed, in any motor vehicle,
If you have to top off,you have a leak, repair it!!

Engine races after start up

More than likely if its a fuel injected (multi port on the manifold) than it is the IDle speed sensor on the right side of the throtle body.

2000 oldsmobile intrique will not start

So the motor is turning over. Check to see if you are getting fuel and spark. Fuel pressure 30psi to start motor. If you are getting spark and not sure about fuel spray starting fluid in throttle body to see if it starts. If it starts change fuel pump and filter.

One other thing would be the anti theft system if equipped.

My 2000 dodge ram 1500 van 5.2 litre as I am driving it will die

If you don't do much highway driving with your van you may have a carbon build up try some fuel njctor cleaner and mid grade gas for a tank or two If you go with the fuel additive rev your engine and watch for moisture and carbon from your exhaust contine to do this till exhaust is clear do not over rev ie do not hold it to the floor press he accelerator pedal and release

Mk1 Cortina engine starting problems

All fords were notorious for starting at one bit but on the Cortina
that I had one winter I had to remove Two spark plugs from 1 and 3 cylinder , take them in the house warm them up on the gas ring then on return to the car pour in a half spoonful of petrol to the "pots" then refit the hot plugs then after 3 swings she would go. The only other solution was to put the car in a nice warm
garage.!!
