1992 mitsubishi pajero A/T temp light comes on after driving.

My A/T Temp light comes after my truck warms up, when I shut it off it won't start back up til the truck cools down about a half hour to an hour. Can someone tell me where my inhibitor switch is (neutral safety switch) sometimes when i put it in neutral it will start right up, but now it has gotten so bad it wont start at all. Please help me.

You need to change the sensor by the sound of it,but is fluid level ok?? start vehicle and push handbrake on hard, then chock drive wheels and put vehicle in reverse .Now check transmission level could be low causing the overheating of the gearbox.but i havent a clue where the sensor is in relation to the gearbox ,could it be in the oil cooler on the rad??

HI MY PAJERO 2.8 DEISEL EXCEED AUTO 1996 HAS JUST STOPPED TURNING OVER. THE BATTERIES ARE GOOD ONES AND EVEYTHING LIGHTS UP. FIRST IT SEEMED THE BATTERIES WERE DEAD AND SO I BORROWED SOME JUMP LEADS AND AT FIRST ATTEMPT IT DID NOT TURN OVER BUT ALMOST IMMEDIATLY IT STARTED ON THE SECOND TURN. THEN A FEW HOURS LATER THE CAR STARTED UP STRAIGHT AWAY. THEN I REVERSED THE CAR A FEW FEET AND SWITCHED OFF THE ENGINE. ABOUT 1MINUTE LATER THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN IT SEEMED DEAD EXCEPT FOR ON ONE OF THE TIMES I TRIED TO TURN IT OVER IT MADE A LIGHT NOISE AS THOUGH IT WAS WHEN THE BATTERIES ARE REALLY RUN DOWN AND JUST MORE OF A TURNING RATTLING NOISE WHEN TURNING IT OVER, THEN ON THE NEXT ATTEMPT NOTHING AT ALL. I HAVE PUT JUMP LEADS ON AGAIN BUT THERE IS NOTHING THERE. THE UIMMOBILISER STILL COMES ON AND THEN OFF WITH THE FOB BIT AND ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON BRIGHTLY ON THE DASH , CAN YOU GIVE ME AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS PLEASE?

Sir if the starter is not even turning im sorry to inform your engine might be broken. Lack of oil could be the reason. I d reccomend to send to a mechanic shop inmediately.

Mitsubishi Pajero 1992 2.5 TD 1992 2.5 TD, A/T_tem light on

The AT Temp light refers to the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid. If worked very hard the tranny will heat up quite a bit and the switch will close telling you the tranny is getting too hot. If this happpens, park your Pajero and keep the engine running and allow the engine to idle, this will help cool the fluid and the light will rurn off. Given the year of your Pajero, a tranny filter / fluid replacement would be a good thing. I have a 1990 Montero (here in the US) and the over heat switch on my tranny failed so light was always on, had to replace the switch. I believe the switch can be found in a tranny coolant line.

Please let me know if this assisted you.

Thank you,
Tom

I have 92 pajero iwas driving home when temp

Your coolant all leaked out, or your thermostat locked shut, and the engine seriously overheated. Some makes will not start again until the thermostat has been replaced (the Japanese have always been too cute for their own good, and program such things into the vehicle computer) and the computer reset, and sometimes this simply kills the engine altogether. Proper maintenance is a must!
