If the fuel pump is actually making any noise that
is not normal, you replace it, before it lets you down
& stranded somewhere

I have no idea why relays are ever meantioned on this
site

You would think they fail on all cars on a daily basis

If you have any basic electricity knowledge, then you
can test the relays,I have no idea why, if the pump turns
on & off

SOURCE: Where is a fuel pump relay on a 1996 chevy blazer?

Hello starryconstr: My name is Roger and I can answer your question. The location of the fuel pump relay is behind the glove box. Once you remove the glove box you will see a relay panel. This should be a 3 relay panel. The relay on the left side should be the fuel pump relay. Please rate the quality of this answer as this is how we know you have received the information you wanted. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

SOURCE: 1994 S10 Blazer Fuel Issues?

YOU SHOULD INSTALL ORIGINAL GM PART AND NOT AFTER MARKET. I INSTALLED 2 AFTER MARKET PUMPS THEY WORKED FOR A WHILE THEN STOPPED. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT ENOUGH PRESSURE, SINCE I INSTALLED GM PART NO PROBLEM.......

SOURCE: 1996 Chevy Blazer...where is the fuel pump reset

There is no reset button on the Blazer or any GM cars for the fuel pump. The fuel pump fuse is the same as the ECM fuse at the end of the dash on the drivers side. The relay in in the glove box behind the rely cover at the back of the glove box and i think it's the middle relay out of the three that is the fuel pump relay.

Most likely that's it's going to be a bad fuel pump. The pump is reted to only be good up to 150,000 miles and anything longer then that is borrowed time.

Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

New fuel pump in 01 blazer making humming noise

No Fuel Pumps do Humbbbb, and some loudly, although you probably left the rubber/insulator for noise absorbtion off the pump. The new ones usually dont come with this, unless you get the whole assembley. It's just a rubber piece that wraps around the pump motor nicely and ablorbs that Hummbbbb.. Time to drop the tank again. I hate when I do that..

1996 Chev Blazer 4.3 vortrex. Will not start without priming the throtel body after the truck sits for a while and especially when its cold. Fuel pump was replaced in 2010. I can hear the pump...

I would be considering testing/replacing engine coolant temperature sensor. A faulty sensor can send signal that engine is already warm when it is still cold, thus, less fuel delivery than needed at time of engine being cold.

Changing fuel pump for 1996 chevy blazer

Whats the problem? To change the pump you must drop down your gas tank. Make sure it is as empty as you can get it though! Once the tank is dropped you need to twist the retainer ring (usually with a screwdriver, and make sure its got some tape on it so it wont spark. then you can replace your pump.

My fuel pump keeps running on 1996 chvy blazerwhile the truck is running

Thats a good thing... if it wasn't running.. it would stall out. If it's just getting loud, thats a sign of it getting weaker and needing to be replaced soon

96 blazer dies at during braking with less the 1/4 tank of fuel or will refuse to start while parked on a nose low incline

possible fuel pump and/or incorrect fuel reading...these senders in tank can give false reading to gauge.key on-engine off runs pump for 3 seconds...listen to the pump in a quiet place like a closed garage and alot of times these pumps sound odd when failing like a louder whining noise than normal. turning the key off for 5 secs will reset and run the pump once again when you turn key on but do not crank. fuel pump is fairly common failed item for this make and model.Replacing sender while servicing pump is reguarly done as well.

My 1996 blazer wont start

Time to replace the fuel filter. It's not a hard job actually. And it's a VERY common thing to go wrong. I'd change the fuel filter and then run some fuel treatment through the tank afterwards. Believe it or not, I've noticed that a nice bottle of fuel treatment really conditions a fuel filter well.

Hope this helps you out.

Fule pump

I bet you frequently run the truck very low on fuel if so you killed the fuel pump when you replace this pump its a good idea to use only a genuine AC DELCO FACTORY pump because the vortec engine needs a MININUM of 60 PSI fuel pressure to start
