Question about 1989 Volvo 740
I have a volvo 760 turbo estate that i am unable to lock the doors whith the key as i don't have the key for the doors. I have to lock the car by pushing the drivers door button down. When i need to get into my car i have to unlock the boot then climb in through the boot to unlock the doors. Can i put the lock from the boot which i have key for and change it for the drivers side door lock which i don't?.
Probably not. The reason the trunk (boot)and the doors have different keys is that the locking mechanism is completely different. I'm not sure bout this particular car but generally that's the case. Your best bet would be to try to find a door lock with a key at a junkyard or on eBay.
