Hi

Sounds like you got the battery terminals wrong ?

If you have the post type round terminal type.

They are connected as follows.

Positive + is the big one and Red Color Coded.......... and Negative --- is the Smaller.

If battery its bolt type connections look for the + or --- stamped on battery.
and follow Red to Plus etc,

I think you need to test all your fuses with a voltmeter to see which one is fried and then replace them. Also, you may have fried the wire leading to your fuel pump. I would check that as well.

You have the leads to the starter leads reversed. Reverse the connections and you should have no further problem.

Mercaides bad starting 1992 190 e
By the sounds of it your problem is that either the battery wants charging or replacing
Points set to bigagap and distributor and cap may not be seating correctly also check on the leads and Plugs for the correct gap
Have you played with the timing if not ok
The 190 is a lovley car look after it....
