My 1999 chevy blazer will not blow heat

How much would it cost to replace a heater core? do you think that's most likely what would need to be done? My 1999 chevy blazer has some heat not much just had alternator and new battery put in it. I was hoping the heat would be better in it but it isn't. It is very cold outside and going to be colder soon. Is 10 degrees right now.

Ther are two small tubes that open and close the valve to let in the hot air' one is from right under the carb intake and goes to the right (looking at the engine) right behind the fuse box. if there's o hole in that tube the heat will not work. just change mine becase the tube dry-rotted

The best way to check it is to warm the engine up to operating temp and check the heat out put at the dash at idle then rev the engine up to about 2000 rpm if the air gets hotter the core is probly getting pluged. If this is the case drian the cooling system and back flush the core also put in a new thermostat this should solve the problem. The air temp should be at least 140 deg at teh dash when the engine is warm if not even hotter the theromost opens at about 180 deg

under the hood to the far left corner you must cut the plastic cover open to expose the blower motor. remove the screws that hold the blower in place, pull the blower through the hole.

I have no heat in my 1999 chevy blazer. It has a new thermostat and the engine temp is normal.

back flush your heater core. find the hoses under the hood that go to and from your core and reverse the flow with a garden hose of plane water. you will notice if your core was plugged by the color of the water comming out. put the hose thats coming out of the core in a bucket to see this.

Why wont my 99 chevy blazer temperature warm up?

You may have vapour lock in your heater lines. Start engine, put heat lever on high, disconnect one of the lines on your heater core, the one on the flow out side, & see if you have any air coming out. Once antifreese comes out stick line back on & retighten clamp. Make sure your cooling system is topped off. Also your water pump may not be functionihg to it's maximum. Take rad cap off cold & view flow rate. If inadequate you may have to replace the water pump. Good luck!

first determine if the heater core is located high or low by raising the hood checking against the firewall {by following the heater hoses to the fire wall} if it is high need to remove the dash. if it is low get on your back and start removing clips and screws no special tool needed.

No heat in 2000 chevy lazer just replaced thermostat

I own a 200 Chevrolet Blazer and I have it for over 4 years mine does the same thing I actually just noticed my heat getting less. My husband found the best way to fix it and the cheapest way to fix it. He takes the tube off the heater and attaches a water hose to it and flushes out the gunk whatever is blocking the hose and after he does that the heat works great. No cost and if I wanted to I could do it because its so easy. My husband did some searching on the internet and a person that this happens all the time to let me husband know. If you need more info let me know I can ask my husband he isn't home at the moment I so I don't have exact details. Thanks Amy

My 1999 chevy blazer will not blow heat

the age of the vehicle does suggest the heater core could be plugged, when the motor has been run awhile where is the temperature gauge (if it has one). ?
If i remember right it's not that bad a job to replace the heater core in those trucks... but it's been awhile for me. I would suggest some cardboard or something in front of the rad to see if it warms up at all. if so it is likely a thermostat that needs to be replaced.
