Want engine / wiring diagram for Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sport
Need to replace the switch relay (I think) for 2 fans that have freaked out and won't stop running whenever the car is on. They're to the cooling and air system, one on each side of the car. I heard it's a really fast, easy job, so would like to take a crack at it myself. But need a diagram or something. This Lancer has the O's (not the EVO) Mivek engine (2.1 ltr) not the regular lancer engine.

Mitsubishi has a lot of models for 2002. Need more information.
Probable the simplest solution would be to go down to your local auto-parts store and purchase a Clymer Manual on your Model and Year. They usually have good electrical info and step by step instructions.
Look in your manual for fuse diagram LOOK FOR A RELAY, put a "RF" on top of the "Radiator Fan relay and find another with same part number. in the fuse compartment. ie Air Cond. put an "A C" on that one, switch them out and get engine HOT to see if fan works, turn AC on too if it works the relays are both good. next things to check [a] "Temperature switch" on block, or [b] corroded wire terminal at firewall connections [c] the fan motor could be bad ...... that Radiator fan operate TWO ways. (1) a hot engine (2) turn the AC on high will also turn it on. Check this first before U get your hands greasy.
The fan is controlled by a thermal "something" This item senses temprature and turns the fan(s) on and off as need be. IF it is on all of the time, Look for sensors in the water system, on the engine, usually up high... You can disconnect one at a time while shut down, and the fans should stop when you get the correct one. Other designs use a relay, but more failure happens at the thermal transducer...
i dont think so. most evo have different headlight shape than the ralliart, but my advice will be go to cardomain.com and look at evos or something or sign up and ask around. some very nice ppl on there for helpful info.
