Re: I CAN'T TURN LEFT OR RIGHT WITH MY 2003 H2
It probably is the gear box if you cant turn right or left...i cant think of anything else that would keep you from being able to. id take it in and have it checked but i guess its not driveable? do you know anyone that can work on vehicles that might be able to change it out for you?

Sounds like neutral safety switch is shorted or jammed. RE: check engine light, stop by any good parts store like Autozone, Advance, etc.. and have them do an OBII scan (fault scan) that'll point you in right direction for finding defective parts. While there, have them show you neutral safety switch - it's hard to describe...
i am an ase certified tech 34 yrs exp. working on one as i write this for the same problem. the running board has a motor and gear box bolted together.un bolt 3 bolts remove motor ck operation.my problem is in gear box slipping inside.after removing motor see if board will pull out easily.put motor back on and see if you can pull board out with little effort.if motor is ok replace gear box. listen for popping noise in gear box.
well depending on witch way you are on the hill if the back is going downwards have someone push on the back of it while you try to put in gear. make sure to always put the parking brake on before you put it in park when on a hill this keeps it from putting all the weight on the trans.
What you have to do is replace the o2 sensor on bank 1 sensor 1.This is the front sensor on the left side on the exhaust system.Left side is bank 1 and right side is bank 2.Make sure the connections are good first.Usually it`s the internal heater in the o2 sensor.Hope this helps.Good luck.
Check the linkage that goes from the shift lever down to the transmission. It sounds like somewhere along the line, it has become disconnected or has broken.
if that parts are clean then It sounds like you have a shift control solenoid that has high resistance causing the hard shift you describe. Scan the PCM for trouble codes if none are present you could have a internal transmission problem.
It's actually stuck on the 4xL, if you keep driving it it might coz a big damage to ur 4wd gear box. you should change the transferbox (it cost here in Dubai around 1350 US$ with labor charges). it happened to me 2 months back.
