On a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, you have to remove the grill to access the back of the head lights. It takes a good pull (don't be afraid to use a little force). Pop the hood and there 4 metal pieces that slide up and several plastic pieces that pop up. You will see the lips on the metal slides (about an inch in width) and you pull those up to loosen the grill. There are 2 of these slides (one on each far side, almost hidden) that are hard to get your hand into that you might need a screwdriver or something for leverage to slide them up. Then pop up the plastic pieces holding the headlamps in place and with a little force pull the grill off.
Then you can access the back side of the headlamps to replace the bulbs.

Usually on a chevy you need to pop the hood. take a look at the back of the head light lens you should see a socket with 2 wires on it. you will need to turn the socket one way or another. it will twist and come out. just remember when replacing the bulb do not touch the glass on the new bulb. always hold it by the plastic base. the oil on our hands will burn the bulb immidiatley.

2003trailblazer head light bulb replace

Drivers side: Gotta stick your hand way in there in front of the battery, and take the rubber dust boot off, just slides right off. Twist the bulb out, and disconnect from connector.

Passenger side: easiest if you just remove the air cleaner box, 3 screws, one on the top, one on the right side, and one on the bottom left. Remove these screws, then pull box straight up. You'll then have complete easy access to the rubber dust boot and bulb.

Head lights

You dont actually replace the headlight , just the bulb inside the headlight.. look inside the engine compartment at the back of the bulb , you just unplug the wire and either turn the bulb 1/4 turn to remove , or there will be a little spring clip.

Head light bulb replacement 2003 chevy trailblazer

Simple! (I have the same model as well) Pop off the front chevy grill - it's held on with spring clips. Then look at the headlight assembly - there are 2 slide clips on either side, near the top - they have a tab that is bent forward - lift them UP. It may take a little force as they are usually stiff. The headlight assembly can then be pulled off the car, and the bulbs replaced.

Replace headlight for 2005 Chev Trailblazer

Thank you for sharing the information on the light bulb. You just saved me money from having to take my 2003 Trailblazer in to have the low beam bulb replaced. I did exactly what you said.
1 Open hood and lock.
2. Take filter cover off (4 screws and they stay with the filter).
3. 3 inch cover pulls off.
4. Twist light bulb 1/8 turn.
5. Unclip the wiring harness to light bulb assembly.
6. Test by turning light switch on.
7. Align assembly with light housing and turn 1/8 until it snaps in.
8. Put 3 inch cover back on.
9. Place filter cover back on and hand tight the 4 screws.
10. Close hood.
