We have the same problem with our 97 Jimmy, The radio and blower worked but none of the dash lights would come on. Had one repair shop look at it and they could not figure it out. Just bought it on Dec. 31st. 2008 and 2wks later it started happening. Took back to the dealer and they didn't think that it was the ignition switch, recommended another repair shop and they only had it for about an hour and called and said that it was the ignition switch. We ran a jumper wire from a hot link in the fuse box too the motor fuse, both on the top side and all the lights on the dash came on and it started right up. Hope that this helps.

I have a 2003 Saab 9-3 Turbo convertible, I have replaced the coil pack, the battery, starter, fuel pump, crankshaft position sensor, spark plugs & more, the engine cranks like nobodys busines

did you check for voltage at the coil pack low tension input
this comes from the electronic ignition and the distributer dc setting on a multimeter

check inside the distributer that the little magnet is still in place on the rotor and that the sensor is outputing pulses as it turns over
{you can use a meter set to AC range for this ...}
pull a plug out and place its metal to ground check for actual sparks
if this is there then its fuel ...

My 97 jimmy has no power to fuses at block to 4/5/10/16/20/ and no fire at plugs. is this an ignition switch problem or ECM ?

Those fuses are supplied by the ignition switch in the "start" position.
Either the switch is bad or the fusable link "B" in the underhood fuse/relay center is blown.

My 2002 nissan sentra will crank but won't start. i've replace the ecm/ecu, the cam/crank sensor or position, checked the fuel pump/pressure, and it still is doing the same thing. sometimes it

I assume you checked the fuel pressure and it is normal.
Are the spark plugs getting spark when it fails to start ?
Are you getting injector pulse from the computer ?
Any trouble codes stored in the computer ?

My 02 Alero 2.2 won't start....replaced battery and had the starter tested which is fine...could it be the timing chain?

Ok you should check for fuel pressure and /or spark if you do not have fuel pressure then you might want to check fuses or fuel pump if you have fuel pressure not have any spark! Then you may want to check your spark module is bolted to the top of the valve cover. I don't think it would be the timing chain I would start with checking for fuel pressure and your spark module or just replace it if you have no spark. I hope this helps!

2004 gmc jimmy, tried to start fired twice didnt catch now just turns over,i can here fuel pump and smell gas.replaced ignition coil??? still wont fire

Check the ECM/BAT fuse. this fuse controls the ECM and the fuel injection circuit. If the fuse is ok, you need to check for voltage at the spark plug. Pull the #1 spark plug. If the cylinder is getting fuel the plug will be wet with gasoline. Put the spark plug wire back on the plug. Now crank the starter and look for a spark from the spark plug electrode. If you can let me know what you find from these tests, I can help you determine the next course of action.

94 vette won't start,bat good,have org. key,fuses ok,high beam light on lights off,lcd cluster won't light up?

Disconect the battery and ECM for FOUR DAYS then reconect the ECM and BATTERY. Let it sit for another four days without turning anything on. It should start but will run rough for about 200 miles as the ECM relearns the system. I had the same issue and that is what fixed it.
