Question about 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Hatchback

2001 pt cruiser codes po 605 and po 700

Need to know possible fixes for car.
605 code cat, 02, evap not ready.
700 code cat, 02,evap egr,not ready.

Freeze frame load 10%, ect 222, stft 0, ltft 6.2, map 7.0
rpm 1472, speed 0 on 605 code.

    evap codes I have an 02 expedition with 3 codes p1450 and po171 and po174 the 171 and 174 I have been fighting with for awhile the p1450 just showed up

po700 is the code for the transmission control module. it is located in the front of the transmission. you can change it yourself

I changed the EGR valve on my '02 PT Cruiser about a year ago when I got the code, not the check engine light is coming on again but the car is running fine! I have taken it back to my mechanic twice to...


Its either a faulty EGR valve or it has carbon build up inside.Take valve off and clean carbon out using a non-chrlonated brake cleaner and wire brush.

its the intake air temp sensor located on the air duct between the throttle body and the air filter housing

DTC # 01-PO442 and P1407 are the codes that come up possible solution help


PO-442 EVAP Control System Leak Detected (Small Leak)

You will need to put an EVAP Smoke Machine, on system to find leak

P1407--Should be EGR related.

Most likely need new EGR Valve

Errors P1684 given, how do I fix


The first code, p1684, just states the battery has been dis-connected in the last 50 start cycles.
Code p0401 is the EGR flow. You may need to replace the EGR valve.
Code p1193 is the intake air temperauture ( IAT) sensor. It may also need to be replaced.
Have your mechanic take a look at those, and please let me know how it goes.

I just bought a 1997 Mercury Sable it was a private sale. Once I got it home the check engine light was on can't remember the code but it when I looked it up it was the canister purge valve. Spent $80. for...


P0401 insufficient EGR flow.

Possible causes:
  • Fault in vacuum supply to EGR vacuum regulator solenoid.
  • EGR valve stuck closed or iced.
  • EGR valve diaphragm leaks.
  • EGR valve or flow path restricted.
  • EGR vacuum hose off, plugged or leaks.
  • VPWR circuit open to EGR Vacuum Regulator solenoid.
  • EVR circuit to PCM open.
  • EVR circuit to PCM shorted to PWR.
  • Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (D.P.F. EGR) sensor pressure hoses both connected improperly.
  • D.P.F. EGR sensor pressure hoses reversed.
  • D.P.F. EGR sensor VREF circuit open.
  • Downstream pressure hose off.
  • Downstream pressure hose plugged.
  • Damaged orifice tube assembly.
  • Damaged EGR Vacuum Regulator solenoid.
  • Damaged D.P.F. EGR sensor.
  • Damaged PCM.



P0443 indicates an intermittent EVAP canister purge valve circuit failure.
Possible causes:
  • Intermittent EVAP canister purge valve or VPWR circuit open.
  • Damaged EVAP canister purge valve.
