  • thkchk23 Jan 07, 2009

ok and what if the gas does spit out then what are my options

  • thkchk23 Jan 08, 2009

well i tried the spark pluggs and they had no gas smell to them. but there was a gritty sandy looking substance on them. so we had changed 3 out of 6 so far because the other 3 are pretty hard to gain access too one is in the back of the engine and the other well you know where the other ones are located. on the top of the engine but diagonally set in and also set a lil far back so those ones i may need help with

  • thkchk23 Jan 09, 2009

no not yet we are going to have to take it to get the fuel filter done because i went out there this morning to check to see where the fuel lines were that you are talking about and i found them but i didnt want to mess with them till my boyfriend got up. and i tried the car again and i wanted to see if the pump sounded like it came on. and when i turned the key to on it just clicked it didnt even make the pump sound

If you are looking at the engine with the Hood open on your left hand side right where plug#3 and #5 located above then there are two fuel hoses with claps on them remove wither one and turn ignition the ON position gas should pray out. Also if you are getting gas an no spark take out any spark plug and it should be wet and smells like gas. If this happens you Need a DISTRIBUTOR my friend. Contact if you need more help. Good Luck

Fuel pump fuse first then fuel pump relay next then if both are good the its a FUEL PUMP.

  • O Mclean Jan 07, 2009

If you get gas and you don't have spark then You Will need a DISTRIBUTOR.

  • O Mclean Jan 08, 2009

The hardest one to get to is cylinder #6 all he way in the back close to the firewall the others are not bad at all. Hey did you get it started???

  • O Mclean Jan 12, 2009

If PUMP fuse keeps blowing MORE than likely the fuel pump is stuck/Not working and will cause fuse to blow or if wiring has short may be grounding out on body of vehicle if wires are broken. Check wiring to fuel pump if all wiring is good. Fuel pump is BAD. Contact if you need more help, good luck.

2003 F-350. Why is there a severe power dropoff when the engine gets hot?

When you say "hot" do you mean normal operating temp. or overheated? Without this information, it's not possible to give a good answer, however, lets assume you have full coolant, and the cooling system is in normal range. It sounds like a clogged catalytic convertor. If you severely restrict the exhaust, the engine will not have power and usually will overheat. Check the air filter too. Replace if dirty. Good luck!

1987 Nissan Maximum gas hand doesn't work & transmission is reading full but it leaks sometimes

There are three fixes possible for the gas gauge....but I would have this troubleshot by a garage:

1. The gas gauge itself does not work anymore. It could have just finally "died". Problem is, you cannot replace just the gauge. It has to be the whole instrument cluster. Having a garage shoot power TO the gauge and then shot the gauge itself will let you know if the gauge assembly is bad.

2. The fuel sending unit is bad. This means the wiring to the gas tank fuel pump/sending unit is bad and does not work. The signal is not being sent to the fuel/gas gauge. This means the fuel pump assembly needs replacing.

3. There is a wire problem somewhere between the gas tank and the dash to the fuel gauge.

The transmission leaking but still reading full just means that there is plenty of transmission fluid in the transmission. The drips or spots you are finding are not enough to "read" low enough. Unless you have a HUGE spot of tranny fluid left on the ground, I would just think about a transmission fluid filter change. This way, a new pan gasket will be installed and fresh fluid filled to the proper level will be accomplished on your car.

I have only 35 to 39 psi gas pressure reading what can cause this. I have replaced the filter plug wires coil packs. when stepping on gas pedal there is alot of hessation

check the tps(throttle position sensor) voltages and grounds. one wire is battery voltage the other is reference voltage and the third is ground. the reference voltage should get higher smoothly as you move the throttle without any dropouts anywhere in the full movement from closed throttle to wide open.

How would I know if the fuel filters are faulty on a 2003 Jaguar S type & how do I replace them. I hear there are 3 fuel filters. Is that true? Please answer soon. Thanks.

Well for the 6 cyl engine there is only one inline filter. As with most all cars with in-tank pumps there is an additional filter or screen in the tank.
If you have zero fuel pressure at the rail, you would disconnect the inline filter and check for fuel pressure there.
The pump could have failed or may not be getting power.

tech answer.:
Battery Has Been Disconnected Number of Trips to Set Code: 1
Trouble Code Conditions:
Key on, and the TCM detected that it had been disconnected from the Battery Direct (B+) circuit or its Power Ground circuit. This DTC will also set during the scan tool Quick Battery Disconnect procedure. Note: Due to the integration of the PCM and TCM, the transmission part of the PCM has its own specific power and ground circuits.
Possible Causes:
  • Quick Learn procedure was performed with scan tool
  • TCM battery direct (B+) circuit is open or disconnected
  • TCM power ground circuit is open
  • PCM/TCM was disconnected or it has been replaced
bar room answer.
your battery was dead, or removed, or is was bad.
battery is old and cold starts, allowed it to drop battery voltage way too low, (weak battery, or just too cold out, is this in Klondike?)
left head lights on, and battery drained too low and this code sets.
gal at bar says, what should i do?
answer. sell the car. (nah)
reset the code with an $9 scan tool and drive, see if it comes back.
if comes back and battery seems week. bingo, end of life battery.

I have a Maserati dashboard message that I don't know what it means.

The vehicle computer can sense low voltage, so is warning the driver the care is about to fail. Replace the battery with a new one and you should be good to go. The computer will reset once the power is cut off during the battery switch, and reboots during the new battery power up.;

#1 Misses, Engine Light goeos On then Off.

i am wondering is if there is a leak in your pump assembly, in the tank, and as soon as the fuel level gets below that hole, it starts to **** air, or lose pressure.
