Question about 1985 Mazda RX-7
My brake lights went out on my 85 rx7. I've checked everything. Fuses, ran all the way down the wire harness to see if it got a short, and i checked the switch. The switch has a pos and neg going in. The pos worked however the neg wasn't getting a ground. So i spliced the wire and grounded it too the body. The switch was then working. But whenever i hooked it back up, nada. I'm a noob when it comes too electrical on cars. plzz help if you can!!
The switch should only have a pos or neg not both the most common is a pos set up, the light cluster will be earth to the body and the live will go to one side of the switch and when the switch is pressed travel from the other side down to the light cluster and the bulb will light up try this set up all so re check the loom as it sounds like it may be earthing some where from switch to light
