86 is a split year, some have an external regulator, it would be on the inside of of the fender on the passenger side, so since u say you don't see it then your voltage regulator is mounted on the outside back of the alternator with a oval connector going to it, it is black and silver

I just got a 2010 Ford Escape 3.0L and the voltage regulator has failed. Is there a way to replace just the voltage regulator on this model without replacing the entire alternator?

if the voltage regulator is part of the alternator it is normally in the brush assembly so it can be replaced by changing that module
if it is a separate unit , it will be in the engine compartment so it is a matter of disconnecting wires and replacing
If it is part of the ECM you will need a new ECm Talk wit an auto electrician to identify which you have

1986 diesel isuzu pickup standard 2.2l 4cyl. A New alternator installed. But still its draining battery, (did engine stall) or does battery drain parked?

The voltage regulator type depends on which alternator you have (there are 2 different ones), on one the regulator is attached to the outside of the alternator and the other it is separate and mounted on the firewall I think. See pictures below so you can ID what you have.

Where is the icm high voltage module located on a 1999 chevy express 2500?

What engine does yours have ? 4.3 - 5.0 - 5.7 L An just to get this straight , The ICM high voltage module is ? If you would like help you need to get your terminology correct !
ignition control driver (ICD) module. ,no high voltage module !
The enhanced ignition system used on all OBD II engines somewhat resembles the current distributor ignition (DI) system described in the ignition systems. However, the system has been greatly enhanced in order to make it compatible with the new OBD II regulations. The enhanced ignition system provides a spark at precisely the correct time in order to ignite the air and fuel mixture for optimum performance and fuel economy. The system consists of the following components:
Vehicle control module (VCM)

Ignition coil driver module

Ignition coil

Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor

Replacing voltage regulator

mostly the voltage regulator is in the unit that holds the brushes in the back of the alternator . Sometimes depending on the make the regulator can be found in the engine compartment. Best to contact an auto electrician to get the right regulator. and where it is located

My alternator on my 86 econoline rv is putting out 45+ volts. Is that possible? Is the alternator fried or wired wrong?

DO NOT run it for long you will burn something up....most likely the ALT. REGULATOR is stuck, advise a new alt and retest....normal out-put is 12.5V>14.0V...15>25A with everything else good....I have never seen 45+V but it's possible with a shorted regulator ....hope this helps you...GL
