Some thing is wrong it does not have a specific code for possibly a computer error if you have checked the codes and are just getting undocumented codes

How do I reset the computer system on a 2006 Ford Explorer

Are you asking how to reset the computer or how to clear an error code/check engine light? Clearing a check engine light (which will also clear the error code) can be done with a code scanner. These are usually available for use at little or no cost at any larger auto parts store (they may even connect the scanner for you and record/clear the code). One word of caution, however: if you clear the code but don't repair the cause, the code and light will return after a brief amount of time. Now as for resetting the computer itself, not recommended that you try since error codes are stored in non-volatile memory. Disconnecting the battery's positive terminal for an hour or so may clear the check engine light, but, again, it will reappear and regenerate the error code unless the cause is fixed. Good luck.

Engine light on transmission doesnt seam to shift on my 2000 ford explorere

You can try to go under the vehicle and unplug the electric connector to the transmission. Clean off any corrosion and spray wd40 on the socket and plug everything back in.

Your check engine light will stay on for about 30 startups or it can be cleared with a scanner or by removing the NEG battery cable for 10 minutes. Clearing the light with a scanner is better so if this process fixed your vehicle, it is still worthy of obtaining the defect Code.

Autozone, Oreilys, and Advance will scan your Explorer for free. Write down any trouble Codes, the clerk can sell you the parts you may need.

Now if the vehicle can not be driven, the best thing to do is get hold of a scanner. It will pinpoint the problem.

2000 ford explorer misfire/ clear codes

You can clear the codes with an OBD2 scan-tool. Have you fixed the problem already? If not those codes can tell you which cylinder the misfire is affecting.

An error code of 0457 came up. any idea what that is?

P0457 FORD - EVAP Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Filler Cap Loose/Off)
EVAP control system has a very large leak such as fuel filler cap fell off, EVAP control system does not operate properly.

Vehicles that meet enhanced evaporative requirements utilize a vacuum-based evaporative system integrity check. The evap system integrity check uses a Fuel Tank Pressure Transducer (FTPT), a Canister Vent Solenoid (CVS) and Fuel Level Input (FLI) along with the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) or Electric Vapor Management Valve (EVMV) to find 0.040" diameter or larger evap system leaks. Federal vehicles can utilize a 0.040" leak check rather than the 0.020" leak check required for California vehicles (click over pic for zoom).

Symptoms:
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vapors

Possible causes:
- Missing fuel filler cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap

Possible solution:
- Retight or replaced fuel tank filler cap

The check engine light will represent fault codes that the computer is sensing. Have a mechanic, or go to your local auto parts superstore and have them scan for the fault codes. This will at least give you an idea about some of your problems.

2000 ford explorer ''check engine light''

This vehicle has the OBDII system and you can only retrieve codes on this with a scan tool. Some of your parts houses like Autozone will retieve them for you for free.
