Check feed pipes into heater from engine ans see if they are hot,if not then its a circulation problem,if hot then check the thin plastic pipes and make sure their is a vacumn in them and a pipe is off somewhere.

you should be able to follow them around with a bit of bending, cant help you with where they are though as i have never seen or worked on one of these vehicles, iam in spain but if its got four wheels and an engine ??then the faults are the same regardless of make.In spanish they are called trampillias in cockney a valve, descriptive i would call them a vacumn operated control valve. Now what would you call them?? told a guy to replace the HT leads on his engine and hè posted back whats that??how on earth does he call them fire wires,i have heard of bastardisation of a language but high tension to fire wires.Thats like changing the name of macdonalds,or windows ,i thought only the dammed frogs (french)did things like that .

SOURCE: 2002 caravan, heater problems

That was a common complaint a few years back, due to the fact that the heater core is a little too much higher than the engine, which requires that extra push it gets when engine RPM's increase. One thing I did do on my Caravan was remove my hoses to the heater core, and use a small external pump with hoses to circulate C.L.R. through my core for a while, then let it sit with CLR in the core overnight.Next day I circulated it through again, both ways by reversing hoses, and then re-attached hoses, bled air out of system, and notice quite an improvement in heat at idle. Once cleaned out, the heater core allowed coolant flow through it better at idle. If your stumped by explanation, take it to an automotive shop, or a Rad shop, and get a quote on flushing that core out for you. I recommend the CLR, but it might be too time consuming for you , but a flush will probably show some noticeable improvement.

Have a 2002 Dodge Caravan and having problems w/heat. Only blows on high and does not get hot, as the vehicle warms up the air gets cold.

That's a well-known problem. There is an excellent video on you-tube on how to do it. It is not hard, or messy, or expensive. You should be able to do it yourself. Search on Blower Motor resistor Caravan 2002

Cabin Heat is Intermittent / Fluctuates / Cycles

You may have air trapped in the lines to or from the heater core.
If you (still) have a real radiator cap on the radiator, remove it with a cold engine, start and run the engine allowing it to warm up while watching the water/coolant level. Make sure the heater control is set to its highest heat setting while doing this. If it is trapped air, you may see it 'belch' after the engine is warm and the engine thermostat is open. Refill as needed if this is the case.
It's more difficult without direct radiator access and may require several cycles of hot/cold to allow refilling through the overflow.

There is a recall that has something to do with the air/heat system in 2005 Dodge Grand caravans. Recall F01. Here is a link. I had mine done two weeks ago, cost me nothing. My air conditioner was overheating.

misty check the water level in the radiato...if it is low the last thing to get any water is the heater core..if low you will need to find the reason...like a water pump or headgasket leaking
