Question about 2001 Chevrolet S-10
Other times it rolls as normal. i own 2001 s-10, manual 2.2, have replaced the alternator about 2yrs ago, replaced battery within the last 4 months.
It sounds like the check valve in the fuel pump inside your fuel tank is starting to fail. The check valve keep a fuel pressure in the fuel line, so the next time you start, the pressure is there and you get a rapid start. When the check valve is bad, the fuel pressure bleeds off and the pump must build up the pressure again.
BTW- When you turn the ignition key, the term is "cranks" or "turns over" until a start condition.
Hope this helps.
