It's the solenoid thats clicking, the reason being the bushes in the starter are either badly worn or are jammed, try tapping it with a tyre iron or small hammer a little harder than gentle but not too hard, if it then turns over it's the bushes jammed, if not its worn out either way replacement is best

1994 plymouth voyager wont start - dash lights turn on but no starter/solenoid sounds.

It could be the neutral safety switch, but if the starter was not working correctly before now, it could be the starter or solenoid.
You would need to check for voltage at the starter and work back to the key switch as needed.

We have a 1994 ford bronco 4x4 eddie bauer, its been running fine and today it would not start. It has power, lights, doorchimesm, interior light all work. When you turn it over it just clicks. We tried to...

It definetly sounds like starter motor issue....there are 2 circuits within the starter motor, one is the pullin winding, that brings the gear close to the flywheel, and the motor windings that "cranks" the motor. It sounds like the pull in windings are working but the cranking circuit has failed.

This requires a starter motor replacement.......what you can do is "lightly" tap the starter motor with a blunt object and it might start once or twice, but a replacement is highly suggested.

Sounds like your motor is shut down,...I had to get a new used motor put in my 2000 nissan maxima cause it was doing the same thing.

Sounds like the starter needs a freshen up.
Solenoid should be the problem and when you jump the lugs on the start you are bypassing the solenoid .The solenoid is the little cylinder attached to the starter motor.
Contacts will be stuffed.
Hope this helps.

1994 Dodge Intrepid clicks before starting

Weak battery or flaky starter solenoid. Check the condition of the wires betwixt the battery and the starter solenoid first. Also check the ground wire(s).

2001 maxima, car just clicks when trying to start

this is caused by a defective starter solenoid, the solenoid is part of the starter.

that sounds like you may need to replace the starter. the click you hear is the solenoid. the part that is just as important is the starter motor. unfortunately they are sold as one
