A simple flush will solve your problem. Cost is about $30.00. Or you can do it yourself!!!

I would flush the entire system. Just make sure that the heater is on so the heater coil will be flushed as well.

Go to the auto parts store. A real Auto parts store...Not, a national chain type store like Advance Auto Parts OR O'Reilleys (Spelling???)...One taht has real mechanics behind the counter. And ask for a flushing insert for your heater hose. It should be installed under the hood near the fire wall. Just cut your heater hose and splice her in. They can show you how to do this. Splice her in after enging has cooled real good. Make sure the raidator cap is off. Once you get her in you just hook up your garden hose and let her run with the heater on and then you open the drain plug on the engine block and fill her up with some good collant. The most expensive thing is the coolant. With this attachment...You are always ready to do a quick flush.

You may call me at (205) 348-5921 if you have questions...Yes, really!!!

As i described a few minutes ago about a 1992 olds cutluss 3.1 v6. System has been bled. new thermostat also...both hoses upper and lower are hot....circulation is good but only blows cold air

I need more info. When you set the vent control to defrost does it direct the air to the windshield. and when you set it to floor does it go there. if yes the control to divert air is working. before replacing the control unit you need to find the lines that feed hot water to the heater and check to see if line coming in to the heater is hot and the line returning from the heater is warm to hot. sometime the heater gets plug. if so just disconnect the lines to the heater and flow water from your garden hose to the return line of the heater for about a minute or so this will flush dirt from the heater. reattach the lines and check for heat. This is a known problem for all cars as they get old.

2006 Grand Prix Heater blows cold air only

The blend door is probably what is keeping the air from blowing across the heater core and picking up the heat. I hope your manual gives a description and procedure for it.

The blend door actuator and other heater case doors will be either vacuum operated with a few canister diaphragms situated around the heater case, or they may be operated with electric motors. If you pull off the lower sound insulator panels below the dash, you can see the bottom of the heater case, and then find the actuator for the blend door. If vacuum operated, check for vacuum. The vacuum for the heater/AC controls comes from a single line from the engine, through the firewall, and into the back of the control head or to a control module. Then, many vacuum lines branch out from this central point to the canisters- the heater/AC controls will direct vacuum to appropriate actuators, or servos.

1992 Cadillac Deville blowing air but not heating?

There is a damper (basically a door) in the heater unit that is probably not being actuated. This damper allows the air from the blower to be sent over the hot heater core and thus warming the car interior. This damper might be either vacuum controlled or electrically controlled. My 1992 Blazer had vacuum lines that went to it. It could be that you have the vacuum lines loose under the dash. Look for loose hoses or connectors and see if you see an obvious place they might plug into.

Engines can rock on the motor mounts. You probably have a vacuum line that is pinched, cracked, broken, kinked, or unhooked. check the engine compartment lines first. If you have thin plastic vacuum lines, they can kink more easily than rubber lines. If you have been working under the dash (replacing a radio, etc) check your work area in case you have a broken fitting on a vacuum housing or an unhooked line.

Heater stopped blowing hot air this wonter

You need to check the heater core it has two hoses going to it feel of them if one is hot and the other cold heater core is stopped up replace it or flush it out if they are both hot it can be the switch or a vacuum line the vacuum line will be on the passenger side under the hood where the airconditioner hoses go in the body

Heater blowing hot air

If you have a new heater core inside, some of the probable causes of your lack of hot air include the two heater hoses, heater control cable, water pump, and damper/vacuum door. A handy diagnostic article that explains this will is the following:
