Usually these are located on the exhaust manifold or just below the exhaust manifold and you should be able to see it in the engine bay. On V6 engines there will be one sensor on each of the 2 exhaust banks.
You will probably need to remove the engine cover to see the sensors on your exhaust.
If someone told you to replace these because you got a particular fault code I would be wary. A decent scan tool and basic diagnostics can show if the 02 sensor is working or not. Some faults often blamed on an 02 sensor are not due to faulty sensors.
can be lots of things. only live person can find this, no cloud web bunnies.
engine PING? bad engine. engine accessories loose. or even a bad waterpump, PS pump, A/c compressor , or alternator. or just a bracket loose. its a hands on deal, find experienced hands and ears and bingo. its a machine they can fail 100s of ways. simple to complex.
Hi, no, they are not related. The oxygen sensor(s) are part of the ignition/emissions sytem and help regulate fuel flow/mixture. The A/C system is self contained and does not affect other engine systems. Mike
THEY ARE NOT A MATCHED PAIR BUT THEY SHOULD BE REPALCED AS A PAIR, THAT IS NEVER ONE NEW AND ONE OLD SENSOR. A GOOD QUALITY SENSOR IS AROUND $60, THE MAKER IS NIPPONDENSO, DO NOT SE SO CALLED UNIVERSAL SENSORS.
Take it to a autozone and have them pull the codes and tell you what is happening, it is most likely a 02 sensor not functioning properly. But have the codes pulled right away, andthey can tell you what it might be then post the codes here then we can tell you if you should wait or not. better safe than sorry. If you drive it and it brakes and you knew the light was on and di not get it checked right away you could void the warrenty.
P0041 Downstream Oxygen Sensors Swapped From Bank To Bank How does a P0041 code trigger the check engine light? This code will trigger the light to come on under the following condition:
The Heated Oxygen Sensor Monitor, a strategy built into the computer, determines if the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) signal response for a change in fuel trim corresponds to the correct engine bank. If a response from the Oxygen Sensor being tested is not indicated, a trouble code will be set and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) will illuminate.
Possible Causes: Crossed Heated Oxygen Sensor harness connectors Wiring swapped from one Oxygen Sensor connector to the other Wiring changed at the computer connection or in the related harness
