I have a 99 saturn sl.....I think I need to get a new radiator cap because that is where it all blows out. I am also thinking that is why the car will not heat inside. Am I right?

Fuel pump replacement

it is inside the gas tank, like about everything made since 1991. you have to remove the tank, kind of a messy and complicated task, plus all the mounting hardware is rusted tight and will break off in your hands. get a repair manual on eBay for about 5 bucks, read it and think about it before you start tearing things out.

the car is worth about 500 bucks, a new pump is about half that much. you might want to think about buying a 99 saturn with lower mileage instead of fixing that one. i had 4 of them and in my humble opinion the best saturn ever was a 99 stick wagon. i am sure the sedan was just as good and there are many out there.

Rear wiper not working. is it on a different fuse?

you will find that it is broken, you need a new rear wiper motor and wiper arm. the large plastic gear inside the transmission cracks in half. very common problem with the rear saturn wipers. note that parts stores see that the front wiper motor is the same for 91-99 saturns so they think the rear is the same way. however the 94-95 rear wiper motor is different from the 96-99 rear wiper motor. good luck with it, you should be able to find a video on youtube of the procedure to replace it.

I have air in my clutch system and have a very little clutch on a 96 saturn sl

i think you need to find an exedy replacement slave cylinder, they have bleeder nipples so you can get the air out. however if you look on eBay you will find folks who are selling complete new prebled master/hose/slave units which fit all S- saturns 91-99 for about $110.00. on a car that old it makes sense to replace the whole shootin' match, not just one end of it.

My 2001 saturn sl is leaking antifreeze/coolant and it looks like its coming from the right hand upper corner of the radiator. can i buy something to patch it?

Hello, If the plastic tank is leaking, I don't think you will have much luck patching it. You might try some stop leak but I don' think that will work, plus when using stop leak you take a chance stopping up the system. Go to auto zone or Advance Auto and price a new radiator.

I think that my timing chain may be missaligned on a 99 saturn sl1 how do i check that and fixt it with out removing the timeing chain cover

I do not think that is possible, you must remove the cover to see and align the marks. I just replaced timing chain on a 99 SL1 I sold to a friend, and it was off one tooth from the factory. That assumes that no one ever changed it before, has 175,000 miles.

My saturn is overheating

If the gauge is normal, then what makes you think it overheats?
If you mean the radiator cap boils over, the cap could be defective?
There also could be so little fluid in the system that the gauge sensor is not in contact with the fluid, so can't read right.
You need to ensure the system is filled, and use a thermometer to ensure proper operating temperature.

No heat in 99 saturn sl1 fan blows but little heat

One or more of:

1. Your coolant is low
2. Your thermostat doesn't close and needs to be replaced
3. The valve from the cooling system to the heater core is stuck
4. Your heater core is clogged
