hi from uk have read bcally1 reply and he mentioned the engine you have is cummins ? not familiar with your model however here in uk the cummins engines i have worked on are on hgv trucks and i am conversant with fual systems not sure if this is related to car cummins engines but the fuel injectors are under the rocker covers and are rocker operated there for req periodic re torque just like tappets the torque is in inch pounds andif left for too long power falls and poor starting due to injectors not atomising correctly so if new injectors and seals fitted ? make sure the injectors were re torqued as to each cylinder firing order and reset tappets at same time all above as i have said is the cummins engines here in uk trucks and not sure if same fuel system pump/injectors are same in the vehicle you have ?

one other thing... make sure your battery if fully charged and the engine is turning fast enough... diesels don't like to start if turned too slowly!

If a specialist went over it already, was it running when they did that? If not, why did they "abandon" the job?? How was it running before this happened?
If you want to "play" with fuel timing yourself, make sure you mark where everything was so you can return to that point if need be.

It could be that one of the injectors is bleeding off pressure not allowing enough fuel pressure to start. the 5.9 and 6.7 cummins need at least 2000 psi to start

Before removal of the fuel injection pump, I am assuming that u checked to see which fuel line was for which cylinder on the fuel injection pump. Well if this was done, place ur #1 cylinder on compression and at the sametime spill time ur fuel injection pump so that #1 will be the next outlet to dis-charge fuel. After this is done, insert the fuel injectrion pump, and ur job is now complete. IF ur front cover is off, there are usually markings on the gear of the fuel injection pump in order for the markings to be alligned

I have a yanmar diesel tractor ym147 it will start but it goes wide open no matter what you do with throttle fuel injection pump is good what else could cause this? Injector maybe?

diesel engine always start in the full fuel position and the governor moves the rack back to idle
that indicates a stuck or broken governor in the pump so have a diesel specialist shop check it or and repair it as the pump has to be bench calibrated

2005 diesel smart car starts then dies after a few seconds. changed pump. fuel filter, pressure sensor, cleaned air intake including turbo. Has good fuel pressure. cleaned injectors, have good spray.

black smoke = excessive fuel = bad injector tips , low injector pressure , turbo not working properly
take the car to an accredited diesel specialist professional for a pump pressure and injector pressure test, injector calibration and tip replacement

My used kubota escavator has a 4 cyl kubota desel engine fuel injector pump is filling crankase with fuel

because injector pumps need specialized machinery to calibrate them , this is a job for a diesel specialist shop
while you can remove the pump , the fitting and timing is is tricky unless it is done by an experienced diesel mechanic
Because the machine would be used by a company or to make a living the quickest fix here is to have a specialist shop to the job rather that do it your self
the pump shaft probably has a bad bearing and that is allowing the shaft seal not to work properly and allowing fuel into the sump

My mitsubishi L2 4d56 diesel engine common rail direct injection have not start because there no spraying diesel in the nozzel tip, what is the problem of this?

the injectors arte electronically controlled so check the immobiliser. cam crank position sensors. run fault codes. I nothing shows up have an accredited diesel specialist shop check the pump as there may be a high pressure problem ( pump failure-- common in common rail diesels as they will not tolerate dirty fuel, water and some additives in the fuel)

Where is diesel cut off switch located on laguna 1.8

what makes you think there is one.

the FSM (factory service manual) covers this , 100%

buy one new or used.

check fuses first.

why does wiki say there is no Generation II Laguna with 1.8L diesel.

but shows, x6 , 1.9L

all are F9Q-xxx engines. 1,870 cc

so what matters is exactly which of the 6 F9s you have.

all have Direct injection, and works more like gas car than diesel.

but says>

The diesel-fuel is delivered either by a mechanical injection pump or a common rail fuel injection installation.

my guess is common rail.

is it>?

the first job is to check all fuses.

the make sure filters are clean (done)

then make sure the glow plugs all work.

if all that works, then using the proper scan tool see if the PCM

is throwing DTC codes (say for crank or cam sensors)

crank for 5 second scanning. got DTC errors?

if that is ok, fuel pump pressure is key next step.

the next step are the injectors actually firing electrically.

how is that.?

My 1997 300 TDI Disco is leaking fuel from the back rear of the injector pump. I don't think its coming form the injector pipe unions. Is it possible to be coming from the torque key bolts?? I pulled one...

Unless it is from the centre blanking screw, that is removed to set pump timing, there is no quick fix.
Recommend removal & service by a diesel pump specialist, Even my RR specialist would not do this repair in house

Pegueot 306 diesel car having lucas diesel pump, not start

on an open injector like a drop is all you will get
get a diesel specialist shop to check the pump for you as it is extremely dangerous to play with high pressure pumps

if you were to place your finger over that open injector line the pressure created is 25,000psi and that small drop of fuel is injected into your blood stream before you realize what has happened and within 3 minutes you will be dead
if you want to question that statement just as the diesel specialist

I have a 2000 Triton 2.8 diesel mk 4wd regularly serviced that blows black smoke constantly under power & uses excessive fuel

does your regular service includes the injection pump being brought down for cleaning and maintenance?

it is an injection pump problem. inside the injection pump are valves and strainers that are not accessible for regular users. they could only be cleaned or replaced by these people who work with injection pumps and they would calibrate the injectors also so that it would not be blowing black gas and uses excessive fuel.

tnx 4 using fixya,
