Need to buy car parts but my car was manufactured in Canada
I found a great deal on a side mirror assembly for my vehicle-2005 honda civic ex sedan 4dr automatic 1.7L etc etc- but it clearly says "fits USA built models only." I don't understand how a Canadian manufactured car is much different. How is it?

I would say that if the parts fit use them. the reason they say that is because over in europe they use diiferent levels of power for controling the cars but there is no difference between canadian and us versions.

Do you mean the turn indicator located in the mirror assembly? There is no way to replace that other than to replace the entire mirror assembly. I would be checking the wiring harness to the door before replacing the mirror. There could be a broken wire in the umbilical that goes between the body and the door.
Try your local junk yard..Yes it's very easy....Simply take the cover inside your car off (located inside your car next to the side mirror) you'll see 3 screws holding the mirror. Take it off and unplug the harness that it's connected to then just do the opposite to put it back on....Hope this helps...Good Luck!!

There are 2 engines for 92 civics, so that can make ordering parts 'interesting" sometimes. Some websites that sell factory OEM parts have the option of using your vin for your vehicle to locate parts. The only problem there, is that OEM parts are more expensive Check out hondapartscheap site, from Southbay Honda for great diagrams of car parts. You can use your vin on their site for access to proper parts.
