The battery is flat. Recharge, check charging voltage, and for parasitic voltage drain and replace if necessary. Don't replace the battery until you are certain you have no large amp drain from any faulty systems on the car. If your battery is around four years old or older then you may as well change it anyway however as batteries tend to start failing at that age.

In the fuse relay box under the hood, there is a 40 amp fuse in there that controls the starting system. This has blown a couple of times over 4-5 years. Just replace the fuse and the car will start.
Keep an extra in the glovebox.

could be a weak fuel pump or mostly plugged fuel filter check at the engines fuel rail for fuel pressure after you start it and it dies...if no pressure or low pressure, start with the filter, its cheaper.the humming is your fuel pump and that is normal.

SOURCE: 2001 Buick Regal just dies going down the road but starts again

If your car dies suddenly and otherwise runs fine, the root of the problem is an electrical problem or electronics/computer related. Even though it could be a fuel shut off that caused the car to stop. The "brain" controls ignition and fuel thus my assessment. Have the codes read to see if a problem is indicated with the computer or sensors. Since it is an intermittant problem, it is possible your code reads will still be normal. Check all connections if you don't get a coded problem. Good Luck!

2000 buick lesabre costum das not start turn the key dashlight go out and no crank

Start with a check of the battery making sure that it is fully charged and the cables are clean and tight. If that is all good, then make sure that the voltage/battery power is at the fuse box. You may have an axillary feed wire from the battery to the fuses.

My 2001 buick century custom sedan 3.1 V-6 will not start at all....no spark...nothing at all......with the headlights on ...they stay bright when I turn the key to try to start but nothing at all..no...

Firstly it is advisable to energise the starter solenoid manually. If the engine cranks the fault is - immobiliser, ignition switch, relay, supply, wiring or connections.

If the engine doesn't crank the fault is likely the starter motor or solenoid.

Sounds like a battery cable problem. Check the battery cable terminals for corrosion and tightness. If those are fine, have a load test done on the battery.
Here is some troubleshooting tips:

Battery terminal connections loose of corroded. Check the cable terminals at the battery; tighten cable clamp and/or clean off corrosion as necessary.
Battery discharged or faulty. It the cable ends are clean and tight on the battery posts, turn the key to the On position and switch on the headlights or windshield wipers. If they won't run, the battery is discharge.
Automatic transmission not engaged In park (PI or Neutral (N).
Broken, loose or disconnected wires In the staging circuit. Inspect all wires and connectors at the battery, starter solenoid and ignition switch (on steering column).
Starter motor pinion jammed in flywheel ring gear. II manual transmission, place transmission In gear and rack the vehicle to manually turn the engine. Remove starter and Inspect pinion and flywheel.
Starter solenoid faulty.
Starter motor faulty.
Ignition switch tautly.
Engine seized. Try lo turn to crankshaft with a large socket and breaker bar on the pulley bolt.

I have a 2001 Focus Zx3. The dashlights, parking

Sounds like a short circuit here ? You will need to locate the short circuit . Most probable is the tail lamps and their connections , then number plate lights , then any hinged wiring going from body to a door or trunk (ie No plate illum lights) area . Sometimes the dash dimmer can be a problem . Good luck

2001 buick lasabre will not turnover with the key

Sounds like you have a bad connection at the battery, the starter or where the negative battery cable connects to the engine. Or you have a very dead battery.

1997 Buick Le Sabre will not start somtimes

My wife has a 96 we had a similar problem. I believe that the connectors on the chip that is in the ignition key are worn out. The manual said that it is a safety feature on the car if someone tries to use a different key in the ignition or tries to punch it, it disables the car for like 3 minutes. We had a spare ignition key and switched to that and haven't had the problem since. Hope that solves your problem.
