1989 dodge dakota 4wd will not start

My truck will not start i have changed the coil distributer cap and roter plus the moduel that goes in distributer.

Try replacing the engine position sensor, that should solve the problem. it happened to me I got a simple diagnostic computer for less than &60.00 and it gave me all the code for my trucks problem. my truck had a bunch of lights on in the dashboard, and with that diagnostic computer now they are all gone.

Is the fuel pump working? Have someone crank for you and bang on bottom of fuel tank. If it starts replace pump if not check pump relay for power in and out

I have spark from my coil but I have no spark from my distributer cap on my dodge dakota 1992 v8 5.2 liter


at the distbutor itself there is a part that is called the picup coil most of the times that is what goes bad.

I have a 1989 dodge dakota sport and im not getting any spark at the plugs ive changed the coil, distributor cap,rotor button and still no spark and changed the stater any help?


check your fuses or your timing is off if your timing is off get your timing light if that dont work and is the motor even cranking over

I am asuming this means I have tdc on exhaust stroke now and need to pull dist again and spin roter shaft 180 degrees?


the best way to set the distributer, is to have engine at top dead center. then replace distributer with rotor button pointing to #1 plug wire on cap. have a good day!!

it is the relay that supplies power to fuel pump relay coil etc.the computer controls it so if engine stalls all fuel and ign is shut down. mainly was created for safety in an accident

89 s10 blazer no spark


There is no test for module in distributor, but they often cause this kind of problem. Also while in there, check the pickup coil wires to make sure they are intact.
