When you try to start it, does it start clicking and all the lights flash? Any noise from any components? Also have you tried jumping it, It may need the extra power to turn over for the first time.

Check the red wire that comes straight from the starter to the positive pole of the battery. it is connected.

It can either be the alternator, not likely, or an electrical problem. This just happened to a friend of mine with their Explorer and I believe it was a a loose fuse or wire and he fixed it himself.

Has the battery been load tested (Autozone tests free)? Are the battery cables free of corrosion? Has the starter solenoid been checked to see if the ignition start signal is present at the starter solenoid when the key is held in the crank position?

My 2004 Ford Explorer won't start and we have changed the started on it already. It is getting power because all of the lights on the dash come on when you turn the ignition

Your saying you have crank no start correct? Are you getting B+ to the starter solenoid? If your not getting B+ to the starter then its the starter relay, aka starter interrupt relay , neutral start , high resistance in starter circuit (wiring)or a weak battery.
These are all the items in the starting circuit.

2004 ford exploer new battery still not kicking over

Make sure you have good clean connections from battery to starter and ground. If all okay, you may want to have a starter draw test performed.

96 ford explorer no power no crank no anything

Sounds like a connection problem/error. When you replaced the starter solenoid, do you remember how many wires you disconnected and reconnected?

Was there any indication ( sparks, etc) of accidentally causing a short when you replaced the solenoid?

Your initial problem of no start but hearing the click sound is almost a sure fire indication that the starter is NG. If the solenoid clicks, that means that it is applying 12 volts to the starter.

hope this helps Good luck Loringh

My 2004 530i won't start.

If you hear a mechanical hum then its either something with the starter or the battery. Charge your battery and see if its just a little too weak to turn the engine over. If that doesnt fix it, then you might have to replace the starter. Unless there is a serious mechanical issue, your engine shouldnt be the reason the starter can't get it to turn over.
