I have a antifreeze leak on my 1998 dodge durango

Do you have any idea where it might be leaking from? without any clue as to a general location of the leak then I can not be of much help. I sell parts at a chrysler dealer so I know a little about these vehicles. Alot of 5.2 liter motors have freeze plugs on the block that need replacement from leaking, or it could be a water pump, or maybe just a coolant resevoir leaking due to overheating. Now if it is leaking on the passenger floorboard then you may need either a heater core or maybe just a drain tube replace on the housing. Please be a little more specific. Thanks

Is the leak under the engine, the radiator area or inside the vehicle? Has any of cooling system components been replaced and how many mile are on vehicle?

You need a pressure test of your coolant system, wont cost you much for this but hopefully the problem isnt a cracked head or a gasket or it will be possibly expensive

Dodge durango 2000 the antifrezze emptyes after we put it in

You're losing the antifreeze probably due to a leak. Look under it for a puddle. if no puddle, tighten all hose clamps and have the cap tested, if it's ok, you need to pressure test the cooling system to try to see the leak. If you still can't find it, it may be a head gasket or cracked head.

Coolant leaks around water pump area ,does,nt over heat.

Your water pump has a weep hole that indicated it is starting to go bad. Look at the lower part of the water pump while engine is running just below and behind where is says (THREADED SHAFT) when engine is fully warmed up if water pump is going out there should be antifreeze in this area leaking down onto the crankshaft pulley. In RED is where to look for antifreeze.

I have smoke/steam coming out of my AC vents on my 2000 dodge durango weather the air is on or not. Only when it gets up to operating temp. There are no other mechanical problems. What could cause this?

a leaking heater core in the dash . does it smell sweet if it does it's antifreeze and steam that's sticky on the window is antifreeze mist coming from the fan blower / your heater core has sprung a leak im sorry to say.

Can i still drive my 99 dodge durango with a bad heater core?

well if the heater core is leaking then your coolant is leaking as well, heater cores leak on the inside of your car so your car will get water damage and will smell like antifreeze, so i wouldnt drive it
