Replacement Procedure for 2006 Ford Taurus Alternator

Can someone summarize the procedure for R&R on a 2006 Ford Taurus 3.0 Alternator? It looks to be easy to access but messing with the belt tensioner is something I have not done before. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks

You will need a long 15 mm wrench for the belt tensioner. Pull the wrench to the front of the car very hard to make the tensioner move. Remove the belt from the idler pulley below the alternator. Remove the 15mm bolt on the right side of the alternator (looking at the pulley on the alternator). Remove the 13mm bolt on the support bracket and the support bracket from the alternator to the bracket. Disconnect the electrical connector and the battery cable at the alternator and remove the alternator. Install in reverse order. I hope this has been helpful. Please leave a good rating.

the alternator probably is accessable from the underside of the car without removing the compressor, which would require extensive knowledge and expensive equipment. the best thing to do is purchase a repair manual. this inexpensive investment has detailed procedure and pictures to help you tackle this repair.
