Replacement for fuel pump and fuel filter proceedure on 1992 accord EXR

My 92 accord EXR could not strat on two seperate occasions a bout a month a part. I start the car travel about 4Km stop to do something and then try to start the car but it fails. it crack but does not catch. After about two hours it strats again. I though there were frozen line due to water in the gas tank and I used water remover. The temperature is a under 0C.

Now I am guessing it is either the fuel filter or fuel pump. I never replaced these two. Can you give me your thoughts and a proceedure for replacing both. Please send the information to Mrad@canada.com

Thnaks much

Easy fix, you most likely need a replacement main fuel relay. If the car runs fine then randomly will just crank and not start, this is the most likely problem. You can get a replacement relay from honda for around $50, and there are instructions for replacing it all over the internet (it is a huge problem with older hondas).

Fuel filter located: Under hood, passenger side, upper firewall, mounted in fuel line. I think you will see how to change by just looking at it.
I do not believe it is the fuel pump. Usually they are all or nothing.

Sometimes my 92 accord won't start.

sounds like your fuel pump may be going out or you may have a clog in your fuel line. i would first replace the fuel filter because that is cheap ( like 10 bucks) then i would see if that does it - if not then i would replace the fuel pump.

MY DAUGHTER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS A HOSE THAT GOES FROM THE VALVE COVER TO THE FUEL INJECTOR HOUSING. ITS ABOUT 12 INCHES LONG. THERE WAS A TINY LITTLE TEAR ON THE BOTTOM THAT I COULDNT SEE. I REPLACED IT WITH FUEL LINE TUBING THAT I BOUGHT FROM AUTOZONE. IT WORK PERFECT. I HOPE THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM. IT TOOK ABOUT 2 MINUTES TO FIX.
