Question about 1991 Chrysler New Yorker

91 CHRY NY Jumps gears (from 3rd to 1st)

I have a 1991 Chrysler New Yorker. As I'm driving, the gears jump from 3rd to 1st, and the on-board navigator (the company one) tells me "Check Trans." Has anyone else experienced this? Also, is the tranny on this vehicle electrical, because I also have problems with the factory alarm that it came with, and the speedometer is fried!

You said the speedometer is fried ...i take it that it dont work at all. this may be caused by a bad vehicle speed sensor or input or output speed sensor. this can also cause the tansmission to go into what is called a limp in mode. you need to have the codes read from the transmission controller

The over drive band is damage inside or the valve body has to be repaired, I would take to the transmission shop. The transmission is going to have to be repaired internally
