Radio turns on but won't do anything else. can't change stations; stuck on 88.1. volume control seems to work, volume display changes when you turn the knob back and forth, but there is no sound.
I have exactly the same problem. My stereo will turn on, I can adjust the volume, but there is nothing there. The display is stuck on the last station I listened to. Neither the steering wheel controls or the console controls will adjust the station. I tried to get the stereo fixed at the dealership, but they just recommended replacing it after verifying the fuses were fine. Anyone have a solution?

My daughter has a 2004 Jetta and her radio recently started having the same symptioms (only buttons that work are the power on/off, volume control and the CD eject). There is no sound and none of the other buttons work. I pulled fuse 42 which supposedly resets the radio, but it did not resolve the issue. Not sure what else to try.My daughter has a 2004 Jetta and her radio recently started having the same symptioms (only buttons that work are the power on/off, volume control and the CD eject). I have the same problem, I was told to try and get it to reset by holding the scan and seek buttons simultaneously or the mode and the scan buttons to get it to prompt the passcode which is in your owners manual. I tried the scan and seek button trick with no success, and I don't see or understand what button was reffered to as the mode.I have the same problem, I was told to try and get it to reset by holding the scan and seek buttons simultaneously or the mode and the scan buttons to get it to prompt the passcode which is in your owners manual. I have a 2003 Jetta with exactly the same problem. Have just tried seek and scan/ mode and scan doesn't do anything. I'm going to print your comments out and speak to the dealer tomorrow.

no country of vin told
nor which of 5 to 10 audio head engine sound system radios
is there now or if aftermarket not from Jetta VW
the USA car this wiring is in the service manual
but is 1 or more page for each of 5 to 10 radios VW used
see???????????
ours are here
welcome to WWW wide world web, where anyone can post
then fails to tell country or VIN, and is 99% of the post here

for cars here we
for newer radio
we use these
check all of your fuses, the radio has 2 power feeds, one for the operation and one for the memory, if the memory feed is out the radio will work partially like you explained
it's a traction control for driving in snowy climates you can turn it off and able to spin the wheels more freely but i suggest leaving it on,as for the radio i'd check the antenna if screwed in tight or missing if tight take it to the dealership if still under warrenty from the factory
Exact same problem
