Engine Smoke I recently had my water pump replaced and everything was fine. Now, I am smelling antifreeze and once my car warms up and I stop, it begins to start smoking from under the front of the hood.

Last month is not that long ago I would take it back the the guys who did the water pump and have them look at it it could be as simple as a loose hose clamp or a hose that has fatigue and is starting to leak.

Hope this helps you out.

Smoke or steam? if it's steam, sounds like a hose or something with waterpump came loose and is being vaporised by exhaust. take it back to garage tell them whats going on, they should check it out for free.

When you say "sometimes", whad do you mean exactly? When cold? When warm? When accellerating?
White exhaust smoke (which has a sweet smell) is often an indication of a blown head gasket. You'll need a compression test or test the antifreeze against exhaust gas contamination. Although the compression test will tell you more about the contition of the head gasket.
Where exactly does the white smoke come from under the hood? Maybe there's a puncture somewhere on the radiator hose or heater hose and the antifreeze sprays on the exhaust? Please check. There still is a tiny bit of hope it's not the gasket...

Hard starting smell antifreeze

Souinds like beginning of blown head gasket. could be due to corrosion on either head or block. "Diesel knock" could be due to excess compression from water in cylinder (will explain steam, antifreeze smell).

It sounds like you have a clogged radiator. You need to flush it out . If it won't unclog you will need to replace it. Sometimes if you ever use stop leak in your radiator, you need to flush that out if you ever replace anti freeze or add more stop leak. Remove radiator cap and start car and let it warm up to operating temp. Fill radiator where you can see the fluid with cap off. While looking at antifreeze gently give the engine a little gas and see if the antifreeze circulates by going down. If it doen't then it is either water pump, thermostat or a plugged up radiator. Good luck.

There is white smoke coming out the tailpipe no smell of antifreeze

If it doesn't smell like sweet then you most likely got a bad tank of gas. Just to be safe keep an eye on your engine temp. and coolant levels.

White smoke exhaust

White smoke is caused by coolant or water coming out the tail pipe. There is a chance that the white smoke was caused by water splashing up from a puddle onto the exhaust pipe. Keep an eye on the coolant level in the radiator in any event. If its less then there leak coolant leak in the car engine which is causing this problem....
