Re: window stuck down on 1994 ford explorer
While holding the switch in the up position, bang on the middle part of the door panel, if the motor is stuck then this will usually unstick it. but if motor is running then you will need a new window regulator.

Do you hear the motor run when you push the button? If so spray WD-40 with the red applicator tip in between the window and the rubber weatherstrip from the left side working over to the right side to free it if its rusted, jammed.Or the window is off the track and the panel needs to be removed or if no sound check the switches for corrosion or breaks then check wires to the motor and put a test light on them.
Take a test light to the motor connector and probe both wires and see if you have power on both sides. First press the botton up if power press down. if you have power than your window motor is bad or your elect repair is bad.leave comment.
If the motor is working but the glass is not moving something must have broke inside the door. See if you can sneak a piece of duct tape down along side the glass, get it down as far as possible. Use a butter knife or something to make the tape stick to the glass, now try pulling the glass up with the tape. You may want run the window motor at the same time maybe it will catch. If you get the window up, tape it with duct tape so you can get it to a shop to get it fixed. Good luck.
Wil it work at the door switch or not at either switch? If not make sure you have power and ground to the motor in up and down positions. if so suspect the motor. Also the cable operated regulators break and will not let the window go up or down
Disconnect your negative battery cable. Locateand remove the screws that hold your interior door handles in place (they maybe hidden by snap in, or snap on clips). Remove the interior door handles, thendisconnect the wire clips to the switches. Your panel is held in place by snapin clips; use a small pry bar to pull them from the door (try to get as closeto, or directly under the clips to prevent them from tearing out of the doorpanel). Once the clips are pulled, pull the panel upward to remove it from thedoor. Once you gain access to the interior of the door, you can remove your window regulator and re-position it, or replace it so it works. Install in reverse.
sounds like the motor is stuck turn the key on not starting car adn try to get window to move while watching dome lamp, if the dome lamp goes dim the motor is stuck yu need to make a fist and hit the door nearest the hinges and do so till it goes up. if the lamp does not dim you may have a bad switch!
